Rotary has a close connection with Camp Kawartha. In 1985 11 Rotarians purchased the camp to form Camp Kawartha Inc. For many years the camp held an annual Bikathon as a fundraiser. A few years ago this event was renamed The Camp Kawartha Green-in-Motion to include other types of trail use such as walking & running. This year the Camp decided to change the format to team entries. We entered a team from our club with team members Mike Evans, Mo Cox, Nick Alvonitis, Mike Evans, Pete & Chick MacLoghlin & raised over $1000 winning the McCadam Cup for raising the most money by a team. We met at The Camp K Ecology Centre on Pioneer Rd on the Trent U campus to cycle an 18 km ride from the Ecology Centre thru the Trent campus to the Rotary Shade Shelter & up the RGWT to Lakefield, returning to the Ecology Centre for lunch. Our thanks to the Rotarians who donated pledges to the team in support of Camp Kawartha. Photos have been posted in Photo Albums
