Swimathon Donation for Five Counties, Our Weekly Meeting of May 05, 2014

Rotarian Lyn Kimmett presented a cheque for $6000 to Dave Adams representing Five Counties Childrens' Centre.  Lyn explained that the Freedom 55 donation of $6000 was specifically for the Centre. Dave and his daughter Amanda thanked the club. Amanda had been a client of Five Counties from infancy to her 19th birthday. She will graduate this spring from the University of Guelph and has accepted a full time position at the university. Our weekly presentation was by Rotarian Steve Kylie who provided a fascinating update on the Mount Community Centre project which was initiated by the Peterborough Poverty Committee as a project to provide affordable housing, a food centre, and preserve The Mount St Joseph historic building.
