Rotary Signs installed on the KTCT

The Rotary Club of Peterborough and Selwyn Township (Smith-Ennismore and Lakefield) are the managing partners of the 3.5 km section of the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail (KTCT) between Atkinson Road and the Hwy. #7 bridge. Rotarians Pete MacLoghlin and Mike Evans recently installed signs at each end recognizing this partnership. The township has undertaken the maintenance of the trail including brush and grass cutting and ensuring good drainage in ditches and culverts. RGWT committee members do a monthly inspection and complete a Volunteer Trail Monitoring Form which includes checking that the trail surface is in good repair, signs are visible, the area is clean, no overhanging branches, good drainage, and if there is any evidence of vandalism or trespassing.
