At our June 14th meeting Rotarian Diane Pick, CEO of 5 Counties, & Dave Adams, Director of 5 Counties Foundation, gave an overview of the 2 million dollar renovation plans for the Centre. Our board has accepted the challenge of raising $175,000 towards the costs not covered by the provincial government. Director Karen Wilson has sent every Rotarian an email providing details about the renovation plans & use of the money raised by the club. If the club agrees to this project the club will be recognized by a naming opportunity for eg. the new Waiting Room. Our club spearheaded the approval & construction of the original building in 1974. President Jim urged every Rotarian to consider this proposed fundraising project, contact Karen or Dave Adams if you need more information. The club will vote on the proposal at the July 12 meeting. Bruce Gravel will have more details in this week's Bulletin. Personally I favour asking the Kawartha & BEL clubs to join our club in this Rotary project.
