2022-23 SCTIS Program and School Supply Delivery Trip
Jun. 13, 2023 12:00 p.m.
A noon meeting at Angeno's "Students Connecting through International Service" is a multi-school program that helps Osseo Area Schools’s 5th graders lead school supply drives and then deliver the supplies directly to Mexican students. The Mexican children we help are required to provide their own school supplies to attend school, and most can’t (they live over 100 miles away from the closest store that sells school supplies), so the MN kids are making it possible for the Mexican students to get an education. The MN students benefit too, they learn about another culture, gain a deeper appreciation for their own schools and communities, and find out first-hand that their individual efforts can make a real difference in the world. After the trip, they share this knowledge, through video, pictures, and stories, with each of their schools and communities. We think this program is helping all of the students to progress towards becoming successful, contributing, global citizens. |
