*****On Thursday, March 16, 2017, the Rotary Club of Chicago O'Hare will conduct its Club Board of Directors meeting at 11:00 AM followed by our lunch at 12:00 noon at The Great Escape. We welcome Mary McCann from Solidarity Bridge who will discuss the work of the Rotary Global Grant concerning Equipment for Life Changing Surgeries in Bolivia. We look forward to seeing you then!!
*****Our Airline Surplus Project Work Day needs your help!! Next Saturday, March 18, at 8:30 AM – 12:00 noon we will gather at the Warehouse at 9150 Willow Street, Franklin Park IL. (Hint to finding it: The building is just North of Grand Ave, at the back right side rolling doors.) The facility has no heat, electricity, or plumbing!! Dress warmly and for work! We have some groups that will be picking up large amounts of items that day plus organizing the remaining items. Thank you for considering this in your schedule!!
*****Our Club's 2nd Annual HoopsMania fundraiser from 1/26/17–3/16/17. The last Club meeting before the end of the fundraising opportunity will be Thursday, March 16 The goal has been set for each member to sell at least 10 tickets at $20 each. Return the stub portion of the ticket to Cruz Bernal-Albano with the money. Every ticket sold means more $$$ for “doing good for the world!!” Cruz: albano.cruz@comcast.net Thank you, Cruz, for all of your work organizing this successful project!
*****Monday Chuck Henschel and his scholarship committee – Mike Sullivan, John Kearns, Pat and Jack Ranttila – interviewed twelve wonderful students for eight $3500 scholarships from both East and West Leyden High Schools. Thank you, Chuck, for organizing this very important Club project. The recipients will be announced at their Senior Awards Ceremony in the spring.
*****Thank you to Melissa Bukovatz, Larry Fritz, John Kearns, Jack and Pat Ranttila for attending the Feeding Children WorldWide food pack at West Leyden. Students from both East and West Leyden High School's Interact Clubs participated in this International project. Eldon Tracy, CEO of Feeding Children WorldWide and our Honorary Club member, organized the event and will be sending the 12 boxes of packed food (2592 meals) to the Philippines. Thank you, Eldon, for making this important project available to these students.
