Headlines: our Annual Golf Outing is in five weeks!!!
Our Annual Chicago O'Hare Rotary Golf Outing on Thursday, June 1st at the the Makray Memorial Golf Course in Barrington IL needs to be on your calendar. We require every member to participate in some way – gathering items for our raffle and silent auction (give any items to Pat and email Mike Plitcha for his summaries), encourage others to donate to the scholarship fund, volunteer the day of the outing in raffle ticket sales and set-up, or have your company sponsor hole signage. Larry Fritz will process Manna gift cards for the raffle if you would like to purchase them for your donation. Mike Plitcha, Golf Outing Chair, is encouraging us to work on the Raffle and Silent Auction to make this our best outing yet!!
Congratulations to Dr. Nick Polyak, the School District 212 Superintendent, upon becoming a Paul Harris Fellow by our Club at our last meeting. This is Rotary's way of expressing its appreciation for his substantial contributions to humanitarian and educational programs. We recognize Dr. Polyak's commitment to a better way of life for all through his strong leadership. Leyden School District values each student as a person – considering their entire being of school work, personal growth, school & community involvement, respect and kindness. In bestowing this award, we are acknowledging that Dr. Polyak is a person who deserves this recognition with the thanks of the Rotary Club of Chicago O'Hare.

The members of our Club are amazing!! Last week the Building Manager of Mercy Housing Lakefront Grand Families Apartments in Roseland called to ask for our help for a new family that just moved in. The family of three – grandmother and her grandsons (8 years old) and (25 yrs old – disabled) moved from a shelter and have nothing. Immediately several of you stepped up with items that would take care of their immediate needs – gift cards, mattresses, food, furniture and your loving concern. Thank you for your endless empathy and support – just because they needed it!
