*****On Thursday, March 23, 2017, the Rotary Club of Chicago O'Hare will welcome Dr. Shannon Burke with the North Suburban Physicians Group in Niles speaking about Self Care and Natural Stress Management. In practice, Dr. Shannon's goal is to teach patients how to improve their health through good spinal alignment, exercise, posture-correcting rehabilitation, and stress management. Please join us for lunch at 12:00 noon at The Great Escape.
*****The Jesse White Tumblers will be performing on Friday, March 24th at West Leyden High School, 1000 Wolf Road, Northlake IL for their Junior Olympics where each grade level will compete against each other. Secretary of State White and the Tumblers will perform at 1:20 pm for 15 minutes before the competition begins, so your arrival at the school needs to be before 1:00 pm. This performance has been arranged because of our Club's generous donation of Airline Surplus items to the Jesse White Trunk Party for disadvantaged students going off to college. Please come to enjoy these great athletes and represent our Club in this gift to Leyden High Schools. Frank Holthouse has given their office all of our names so no RSVP is necessary. However, please enter at Entrance #2 Main Door with your driver's license and Frank will escort us to the Field House.
*****Our Airline Surplus Project Work Day on Saturday, March 18th at the Grand Avenue Warehouse at 9150 Grand Avenue, Franklin Park IL. was a wonderful success!! We had two groups that picked up large amounts of items that day (Mercy Housing Lakefront and Phil's Friends) plus packing blankets, cleaning and organizing the remaining items. Our workers included Ed and Sandi Marcus, Ed Jacob, Ed Jacob's friend Ed, John Kearns, Mike Sullivan, Chuck Henschel, Charlie Frangos, Felix Matlock, Fred Otto, Pat and Jack Ranttila. We even had a visit from Franklin Park's Mayor Pederson! Thank you to our hard-working volunteers for your help!!
*****Our Club's 2nd Annual HoopsMania fundraiser was a great success!! Now is the fun of following the college basketball's national tournament. Every ticket sold means more $$$ for “doing good for the world!!” Thank you, Cruz Bernal-Albano for all of your work organizing this successful project! To our second year “high seller” Bob Jensen – we are so grateful for all of your efforts to make this another great year!
