*****On November 17th the Hines VA Hospital Veteran Stand Down was held for homeless veterans at Humboldt Park Armory. Each year our Club has gathered men's winter coats for these homeless vets. Thanks to Anne, Kelly (Anne's friend), John Kearns, Hank Jewgieniew (Sylvia's husband), Jack and Pat Ranttila from our Club for donating coats & gloves and working to help Veterans choose coats on the day of the StandDown. Thanks also to Frank Holthouse, Jen Black-Foltin and Dana Thomas for managing the work of the Leyden Interact students to assemble 1000 amenity kits for distribution on StandDown day. Thanks for making a difference!!

*****The Holiday Season 2017 for two of our charities will be brighter and fun for the families we have touched.
****Mercy Housing Lakefront Grand Family Apartments are on our “Santa” list – thanks to our many Club members who donated gift cards for each of ten grandmothers to help stretch their meager budgets for the holidays. Along with the $100 worth of gift cards, Kay Whitlock has organized a wonderful gift bag for each grandmother with more personal items just for these hard-working ladies. Glenn's wife Sue and her Piecemakers Quilting Group at their Trinity Lutheran Church donated a quilt for each grandmother. Thank you for making a difference in their lives!
****My Joyful Heart had asked if we could help My Joyful Santa with fulfilling of some Christmas requests from some of the children at the Grand Family Apartments. We had every child's request card chosen at our meeting. Your gifts for the children are every kid's dream – a Holiday with gifts of their choosing!! My Joyful Heart will also add MJH's regular gift items (shampoo, lotions, toothcare items, gloves, scarf, etc.) Thank you so much for supporting this project!!
