*****Thank you to Melissa Bukovatz, Rollo Dace, Jack and Pat Ranttila for attending the LIFE Program at West Leyden High School pizza party thanking them for their help to our Club. The LIFE Program is a transitional educational program for 18 – 22 year old young adults with disabilities helping them to bridge from high school to the working world. Through our Airline Surplus Project these students have sorted the opened amenity kits as an authentic job to gain experience interviewing, understanding work expectations, and gaining satisfaction of a job well-done. We were able to emphasize our appreciation to the students and the teachers that their work serves an important role in our Airline Surplus Project's ability to distribute sorted boxes of the separate amenities to our many partnering agencies.
*****Our Club's 2nd Annual HoopsMania fundraiser from 1/26/17–3/16/17. The last Club meeting before the end of the fundraising opportunity will be Thursday, March 9th. The goal has been set for each member to sell at least 10 tickets at $20 each. When selling, make sure that the buyer completes on the stub portion of the ticket and return it to Cruz with the money. Turn in your money and stubs as soon as possible. Every ticket sold means more $$$ for “doing good for the world!!” Cruz: albano.cruz@comcast.net The following information describes how each ticket holder can win:
Each game card is randomly assigned 8 teams (2 from each region) that will play in college
basketball’s national championship tournament. The teams are represented by their seed numbers
and regions in the tournament. To play the game, participants simply add up all the points scored by
their 8 teams throughout the tourney. The top 45 and bottom 4 scoring game cards all win prizes!
