Thank you to all members who took part in the Trail Cleanup with Couchiching Conservancy. We had beautiful weather and the fall colours were in full display at Church’s Woods, where we cut back overgrowth and cleared leaves from the trails, keeping them clean and welcoming for the community. This hands-on service is a wonderful example of how we Rotarians Unite for Good!
Last Week at Rotary
At our last meeting, we had a packed agenda that included:
Students of the Month from Patrick Fogarty, Twin Lakes, and OSS joined us to share their academic and extracurricular achievements. Their stories of leadership, volunteerism, and perseverance gave us great hope for the future..
Our RYLA participants, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Orillia, reflected on their life-changing experience at Muskoka Woods Leadership Camp. Their insights into teamwork and personal growth were motivating and heartwarming - true examples of “Create Hope in the World.”.
Alasoba-Kelsey Braide presented her Classification Talk, sharing insights into her professional journey, interests, and the values that connect her to Rotary. Thank you Alasoba for your engaging presentation!
Membership Minute with Kristen Ross Kristen reminded us that Rotary grows stronger when we share it with others. Whether it’s a friend, colleague, or family member, let’s keep inviting new faces to join our fellowship!
Now Open: Vocational Service Award Nominations
This year we will be implementing a Vocational Service award program, through which we will honour individuals in the community who exemplify vocational excellence and ethical leadership.

Tuesday, October 21st: “Health and the Community” Join us as we welcome Perry Esler from the OSMH Foundation for an insightful discussion about health initiatives and their impact on our community.
Wednesday, October 22: Board Meeting Email board secretary Dale Rowe with any matter for board attention.
Thursday, October 24th: World Polio Day Rotary continues its global fight to end polio! Let’s take a moment to reflect on our progress, share Rotary’s story, and support the cause. Every dollar donated is tripled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, bringing us closer to a polio-free world.
Saturday, October 25: Bottle Drive- We’ll be at Home Hardware on October 25 collecting empties to raise money for Polio eradication efforts.
Tuesday, October 28th: Offsite Meeting at Montana’s We’ll meet at Montana’s for a fun and informal evening featuring a presentation from Information Orillia, our local hub for community connection and support. Bring a friend, bring a family member, bring a guest! It’s a great opportunity to share Rotary fellowship and introduce others to the work we do.
November 22:Santa Claus Parade: Tony is leading the charge this year but needs a chair or co-chair to help organize. We’re looking for creative ideas and volunteers to make this year’s float the best yet.

Our club’s strength comes from our members’ passion and involvement.As we continue through October, let’s remember Rotary’s focus on community economic development and our ongoing mission to End Polio Now. Every small action,from volunteering at a local fair to supporting global health, helps create a better, fairer world.
Sip, Shop, and Sparkle is a fundraising event that features food, friendship, shopping, and wine. Previously called Girls Night Out, it is a popular event that raises important funds for our charitable causes!
