Announcements.

Angela - we need Train volunteers!  This is a major project of our club.  every Rotarian is expected to volunteer ONCE ONLY during a whole year.  Either for a 2 1/2 hour or 5 hour shift.  If you haven't volunteered yet or signed up - please contact Angela to select your date.  Thanks for all you do for Rotary!

Carl circulated the golf sign up sheet.

Rusty wanted to make special mention of a few people with respect to Lobsterfest.  He acknowledged Ralph as being integral in the start up of this fundraiser.  And the Muskoka Ramsey Shriners Club (who ran a lobsterfest for some 50 years) has lent our club their heaters/cookers for many many years.  The 2 members involved are Max Beaumont and Al Davey.

Jed gave an update on Bingo.  He had 500 magnets made and is looking for 7 people to distribute these on mailboxes at our 2 prime ticket selling areas.  There has been a 50% increase in sales each week.  In order to stop the losses, the bingo committee will be proposing to the Board that each Rotarian be given 4 three packs of tickets (worth $20).  Rotarians can sell them or own them and give them away, for a period of 6 weeks.  By then, we should be breaking even.  Its all about spreading the word.  Everyone needs to help to get us in the black!

Julie Scott announced that she will be co-chairing Girls Night Out with Sue Croft.  Megan has volunteered to be event treasurer.  we still need other volunteers on this committee.  The first committee meeting will be August 12th after the regular rotary meeting.

Dave Shaw announced that we still need a host family for our youth exchange student arriving august 15th.  Randy Klein indicated that he might be able to do it.

Sargeant at Arms was Randy Klein.  He fined the 50/50 winners; birthday tables; lates; kevin for making too much noise; and Bill Darker for a parking infraction!

HAPPY: Tony T- for his successful pig roast - attended by more than 150 people!

HAPPY: Deb - her daughter had 5 great days in Boston on her way to Taipei; and stepson has left Liberia, so everyone is proud but breathes a sigh of relief

HAPPY: Avery Hammill - she is going to Gramma's for 5 days

HAPPY:  John Hammill - because Avery's brother is going with her!

HAPPY: Don Whitfield had $50. happy dollars for the successful year of his daughter Past President, Angela! (and what a great year she had!).  And commented that his grandfather and father were past rotary district governors - maybe there is a governor in Angela's future!

HAPPY: Rusty:  for the memories of Don's father and Stu Keyes - who started the Orillia Aqua Theatre project (which we donated to the City of Orillia)

HAPPY: Vic: then pointed out that our past accomplishments served us well when we were negotiating with the City of Orillia for naming opportunities for Rotary Place.  At the time, Parks and Recreation said that if we doubled our donation to $300,000. we could have naming rights.  Vic then asked "how far back do you want us to go" and started reciting all the projects our club has contributed to in this city including the soccer fields at Kitchener Park, etc.  This lead the City to giving us the naming rights - and its now called Rotary Place!

HAPPY: Kevin - $2.00 for the 50% increase in Bingo sales and $3.00 for tony's pig roast - because his son went and that meant he had a date night with Michelle!  (no further details given....)

50/50 winners:  1st - Randy Klein.  2nd - Dave Shaw (who split his winnings with Avery!)
