Editor's Notes
Hello folks:

Sorry we are a bit delayed with this week's bulletin.  Co-pilot Tony has been ill and struggled to get his end of the deal done. Hope he's feeling much improved by the time he receives the bulletin!

After today I am leaving you in Michael Taylor's capable hands. I will be enjoying ski and apres skiing in Revelstoke BC.

Welcome New  and Visiting Rotarians
Welcome to Chris Marinakos and Joe Dyer to the cocktail meeting.
Birthdays and Anniversaries
I think that Allan really likes wishing people happiness as we have some repeats from last week!

Happy anniversary  to Allison and Philippe

Happy Birthday to Scott Showers and congratulations to Foundation for making a killing on Scott's birthday.  Scott paid $20 to foundation so that we wouldn't sing to him.  Then, like the fool he is, he challenged club members to buy back in.  Terri could not resist rising to the bait so Foundation made $40 and Scott had to suffer through our brilliant rendition of happy birthday.

Saturday afternoon: Chili and outdoor activities at Tony T's farm
Saturday evening: Dinner and presentations at Best Western Mariposa
Sunday morning: Breakfast and activities on your own
Sunday 12:30 Fern resort for skating Ice fishing and other outdoor pursuits followed by brunch.
Sunday 4:30 Pick up

All activities are free to hosting families.  Non-hosting families are welcome to join in.  There will be a cost for non-hosting families for dinner at Best Western and for Brunch at Fern.

Quilt Show - April 14 and 15 at Trillium Manor Avoid the line ups- get your tickets early. $5 for ladies and FREE for the gents!  put on by the Orillia Quilter's Guild.  They sent us lovely bookmarks but we think that Scott stole one to give to Shelley for Valentines' Day!

Please complete the Fireside Chat Survey if you have not already done so!  We'll send the link one more time.

Aquatheatre - time to make some decisions!  Do we want to be involved?  The City is spending $225 to put in a new floor, roof and paint.  There's lots left to do.  The cocktail club voted almost unanimously to move this project forward.  Now that you've said you want it...time to volunteer on the committee to make it happen.  Let Allan know if you are willing to help.

The Lunch group discussed serving a dinner at The Lighthouse.  The club enthusiastically agreed. Next steps - We will select a date and bring the opportunity to both meetings to recruit volunteers.

Andrew let the lunch group know that the Vocational committee will be supporting Junior Achievement this year.

Reminders!
March 6 - Axe throwing 7-9 pm - bring partners - $36 each (should have signed up when it was still $35!) - they are licensed (the axe throwing place, not the partners!)  Sign up deadline this Friday (used to be  March 5!)   If you say you are coming, please come.  They are opening just for us!

Rotary Weekend is April 13 and 14 in North Bay.  For first time attendees, the club will pick up half your hotel tab and half your conference registration.  Talk to Marilyn.  More club members=more fun.  Learn about rotary, meet Rotarians from other clubs, dine and drink! (and did someone say dancing?)

Allan continues to plan for the Aquatheatre.

Sergeant At Arms and Other Club Fines
As predicted by the editor, the immunity granted by Sarge Dean was revoked for no good reason!

Angela was fined for hugging instead of 4 way testing! The editor would like someone to fine Sarge Greg next week for this totally uncalled for fine.  What the world needs now, is hugs, sweet hugs, that's the only thing there's just too little of."  (Wouldn't that make an awesome song?)

Andrew was fined for needing help for the 4-way test.  (Andrew - get your wife to help you memorize lines - it's not that hard) I know, you get by with a little help from your friends.  (wow, I think that is another amazing song in the making)

Doug was fined for having a chirping cell phone.  (would it have been OK if it rang like the old fashioned phones did?  That is...in his kitchen?)
Happy Bucks
Happy...Happy...Happy

Lunchtime happiness:

Cliff is heading away "without you baby!"  Cliff - did you not listen to the 4-way test - will it build good will and better friendships?

Nancy is also going away - don't know where but I do know, from Tony's meticulous notes, that it will not be with Cliff!

Wendy is back from vacationing at the no-tan-line beach in Cuba.

Anne is going to Edmonton - I bet she will also come back with no tan lines.
Cocktail happiness:

Terri was happy to have survived a weekend in Niagara Falls with her nieces.  I understand that she brought everyone home that she left with.

Paula brought back a flag from a Rotary club in Barbados - where they combine our two clubs' passion, with liquid at lunch meetings!

Sara Jane is delighted that her son is turning into a full human being having communicated with her in full sentences and going beyond willingness to be seen in public with Mom, he actually purchased tickets for a movie for them to see.  The editor, who often lives under a rock, omitted to note the name of the movie in spite of a great deal of commentary.  The general theme is that the movie features a black superhero who in real life is not able to leave the US where he was raised for fear of not being allowed back in.  (see I do pay attention)

Mark is pleased to have the Saturday of student weekend off; that Monday is family day (and he has the day off) and that Karen got tickets to Bruno Mars (will Karen be taking Mark...we're not sure!)

Gloria is proud of her 1 month old grandson.

Tammy had a great time mooching a room with Megan at the Royal York; and has an impressive new position with Starport Marina!

Marilyn was pleased to get a bag of bags and scarves from Tracy; and that she attended Karen's birthday celebrations.

Sandra was shameless in asking for donations for silent auction items for the Coldwater Ladies' Bonspiel which will be supporting the OSMH Pediatric and Neonatal reconstruction project (there's still time to donate a fabulous item!)

Julie is excited to have Willow for a week.

Sharon enjoyed her daughter's visit and dinner out.

The Lunch group had presentations from the Students of the Month. Always a favourite with members!

After imbibing, the cocktail group feasted on fabulous food provided by our guest speaker Christopher Marinakos.
Christopher is the owner of Momma Mari's Dressings and Sauces, and he provided samples! Momma Mari's sauces and dressings are now available in 60 locations across Ontario including Country Produce, Mariposa Market and Tops in Pizza - his parent's store and the originators of all the secret recipes.

Christopher is currently having the product bottled and labeled in a facility in Toronto, but his 5-year plan will bring a facility to Orillia, creating jobs, right here, close to home!

Don't forget, Momma Mari can make you a rock star in the kitchen!
Check them out at shoporillia.com/mommamaris.  Submit your reviews and recipes!  Make this local business an international success.
