Happy Birthday to Ralph's Wife, Diane on  October 1st. .
Wedding anniversary wishes to Rick and Cheryl Rimkey 21 years on October 2,  Bill and Donna Shaw 54 years and Bob and Helena Sutherland 61 years.    Congratulations to our 3 happy couples ( I think we have more than 3 happy couples in the club) 
 
John Madden has been with our club for 6 great years--congrats John!  
Barb, Jayne, Megan and Martin we again recognized as  new members--as always, welcome, welcome, welcome  and we're glad you're a part of our Club!  
We rec'd a thank you note from Mary A. for the plant we sent her for her knee surgery recovery from our club  
The OMAH reception put on by the morning club to open a room there will be Friday  at 7 pm.  They've made a $10,000 donation so we were invited.  
 
Deb showed the thank you from Big Bike event for Heart and Stroke this year and gave out receipts for participants.  
Anne Z is collecting door prizes for GNO.  She circulated a list for folks to sign up what they wish to contribute.  Please confirm if you will be contributing the same as last year or what you'd like to give instead.  Has to be new items, ie. bottles of wine, gift cards etc.   Anne needs help with this.  
Julie has done a great job getting the poster for GNO finalized.  Tickets for GNO will be available by the end of the week from Sue Croft.  We need more help from members!.  Positions need to be filled.  Need someone to organize the male greeters at the door , 50/50 tickets ( Dean offered,  yea Dean!)  and organizing the drivers for rides home ( Tom offered, yea Tom!).  
 
Julie asked for help with the swag bags that may be done for GNO.  Ralph has contact at the City for Bags.

S/A was Ralph.  Ken was fined for drawing the 50-50 tickets slowly.  Ken said he could because he has time as he is retired.  Tony A was fined $2 for winning 1st and 2nd  prize, and Greg was fine $1 not sure why.  
Tony A bless his Italian heart donated his $17 winnings back to foundation.

Neil chatterbox was talking on the phone but as it was to his mom he got immunity.  
Sue got fined for making a comment about Kevin's legs. She said it was because she is into legs.  
Mario and Kevin fined for leaving early for golf
Chuck got his knickers in a knot for his comment about Angela's daughter getting her looks from her mom--Ralph disagreed and thought one should be fair and into inclusivity so he thought her husband should receive some credit as well.  He's all for  patralineal geneological transmission.  ( you may have to google that because I may have just made all those big words up, you'll never know!). l 
 
Happy bucks:
Angela is happy to have her daughter Emma here with $5000 worth of metal wires in her mouth.  
John Madden was happy not to have used his mouth for speaking for 9 out of his 10 days of the meditation retreat he attended
Vic was $2 happy that the add'n to his house will be completed at the end of the month.  
 
50/50 draw.  Total of 58 raised.  $17 1st won by Tony A. and he also won    2nd prize of $12 .  HOly Italian Meatballs on a bed of Spaghetti!

It was quarterly committee reports today.  
Kevin spoke about the TV bingo.  Last couple of weeks not as good a $ draw as previously  We made profit when we are supported by our members with their extra ticket sales.  last week we lost $400.  Lookin for direction from the Board as to moving forward.  Will be  2 weeks of no bingo due to the election.  License extended until December 18th.  John and Ralph agreed to help with promotions and marketing.  
 
 
 
 
Mario spoke about Vocational committee.  Moving nicely with Anne Z. doing Student of the month. Adventures in Technology students to be chosen soon ( 3 of them)  with Tracy Rl, Laura and the Dictionary program for grade 3 kids, Megan B. has condtact with the Rotoract kids, Mario said the Interact club is going at Twin lakes having found a teacher advisor,  Tony A and Bob S are looking after scholarship awards.  
 
Rob Kloostra  is vice chair of local needs, not as busy as usual. Donated to Orillia Canada day, Orillia Film Festival ( youth prize), Salvation army day camps.  Also donated $ to Megan Warner who went /is going to to the national ballet competition in Poland  Here is a picture of when this young lady came fundraising door to door to my house:  
 
 
Sue Croft spoke about Membership being about Recruitment and Retention.  Goal is to increase by 5 member this year.  Request for collective ownership.  Angela is updating the Rotary brochure. Wine and Cheese in November and hope to attract some new folks to our upcoming potential satellite cocktail hour part of the club.  
 
Marilyn spoke about International and World service.  International student weekend being planned, student exchange needs families able to host to keep program going.  We sent $2000 to Guatemala to buy books in Spanish and Marilyn showed us pics of the progrdam.  $500 to the back to school program in Philippines  ( buys books and uniforms).  We sponsor 5 kids thru their whole school career.  $1000 went to the Shelt Box program for disasters around the World ( $1000 buys one shelterbox).  
 
Tom spoke about the Rotary Train.  Planning next years' operations in the Spring.  
 
$5000 grant rec'd which will be used to repaint station/new signage, wheelchair ramp
 
 
Julie spoke of social club and the activities of past few months.  We'll be having bingo at Kelsey's October 9th as a Club social activity.  Charter Night will be December 16th at Mariposa Inn.
