Next week was supposed to be our second Picnic-In-The-Park event of the summer. However, President Tony has been able to arrange for a joint "All Candidates" meeting for next week which is to be jointly held with the Kiwanas Club. Due to the limited space and number of additional people who may wish to attend, please inform Nancy Welton by Friday of this week if you plan on bringing a guest(s). We need to let the Highwayman Inn know what our numbers will be so that they can properly plan and prepare.
Instead of cancelling Picnic-In-The-Park altogether, John Madden informed us that the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club has graciously offered to let us hold a meeting at their facility and try our hand at lawn bowling. As such, we will continue with our plans for a potluck meal and instead move it to Tuesday, September 1 at 5 pm at the Lawn Bowling Club. We will cancel the regular lunch meeting that day. So, whatever you were planning to bring for lunch next week, you can bring to dinner on September 1. Please be sure to indicate what you will bring on the sign up sheet that Julie Scott will be circulating at the meeting next week. (As a side note, OLBC has indicated that we can BYOB - I think I heard that right and I am sure John will correct me if I was hearing things). Plan on attending - it will be another fun social event. For those of you unsure of where the OLBC is located, it is behind 2nd Century Source for Sports.
There will be a GNO meeting on Wednesday, August 26th at 6 pm at the home of Gloria James for all those on the GNO committee to work on the planning of this years' event.
