Highlights of our November 18 meeting included Students of the Month and a Classification Talk by Rob Kloostra.
At this week’s meeting, Tony kicked things off with an update on Rotary’s work to eradicate polio, along with a look at the growing challenges around measles.
We also recognized our Students of the Month. All three of the students we honoured have demonstrated impressive leadership and dedication in the classroom. It was inspiring to hear from their parents and teachers about the positive impacts they have made.
Rob Kloostra delivered his classification talk. Thank you to Rob for sharing a little about yourself- and best of luck in the next municipal election!
Congratulations to Steve on receiving your Paul Harris +7 recognition. Your dedication to Rotary is commendable.

Santa Claus Parade
Our club was well represented at this past weekend’s Santa Claus Parade, from the volunteers who helped out with marshalling to the members who took part in the float!
To all who helped out with the planning, building, and decorating of this years float, great job! The product of your efforts was outstanding. Special thanks to Tony for leading this initiative.
Salvation Army Kettles
As Nancy announced at last week’s meeting, a few more volunteers are neeed for the Salvation Army holiday Kettles. If you can help, please talk to Nancy.
This Week: No Meeting on Tuesday
Instead of our regular meeting this week, we’ll be kicking off the holiday season with a fun and festive club outing to Quayle’s Brewery on Thursday November 27.
We’ll start by decorating a tree in support of Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, then head inside the brewery to warm up and enjoy some fellowship. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Please remember to bring non-perishable items for the Sharing Place, as we continue our tradition of giving back during the holidays. It’s a great chance to connect, contribute, and get into the spirit of the season. We hope to see everyone there!

Season of Giving Reminders
In honour of the club’s 80th anniversary, we will be gathering donation items for local charities at our next four meetings. We’ll be collecting for a different charity at each meeting, and our goal is to collect 80 items each time.

Please bring non-perishable food items. If you can’t make Thursday, you can bring to the Dec. 2 meeting.
Tuesday, December 2 - Green Haven Women’s Shelter
Collecting mugs (new or gently used without stains or chips), shampoo, conditioner, body wash and individually packaged peanut-free snacks for kids’ lunch boxes.
Tuesday, December 9 (Charter Night) - The Lighthouse
Please bring new or used clothing such as hats, mitts, coats, snow pants, blankets, and non-perishable individually packaged snacks.

While enjoying our Moose Milk tradition, we’ll be writing Christmas Cards to be distributed to seniors at Hillcrest Lodge. Each member is asked to write about three cards. Anyone who has blank cards to donate can contact Dale before December 10
