The Special Projects committee is looking for volunteers to participate in visiting the homes of the fire/carbon monoxide alarm applicants to help to conduct an assessment. Volunteers will accompany Rick Rimkey and Ray McGill. We need volunteers for this coming week, Monday from 5 - 8, Wednesday from 12 - 3, Thursday from 12 - 3 and 5 - 8 and, if necessary, Tuesday after the potluck dinner. You will simply need to accompany one of these two gentlemen and help them to assess the needs in the home. If you can assist, please contact Dean Beers.
There is a GNO meeting on Wednesday, August 26th at 6 pm at the home of Gloria James for all those on the GNO committee to work on the planning of this years' event.
We still have openings for shifts on the train for this weekend. We need everyone to take a turn to lighten the load. Please contact Angela if you are able to help out and take a shift. The season is almost over.
Next week's meeting will be a potluck dinner which will be held at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club at 5 pm. No lunch meeting.
The first and second place prizes were both won by guest who graciously donated back their winnings to the Rotary Foundation. Thank you Brittany and Trevor.

Today we had the privilege of having the Kiwanians join us for an All (Provincial) Candidates meeting. The candidates are vying for the vacant seat in Simcoe North left by Garfield Dunlop - bi-election to be held on September 3rd. Four parties were present and each had 5 minutes to address the group and then respond to questions posed. The four candidates represented were:
