Our  Sargeant at Arms was Kevin Vinnard, doing a wonderful job standing in for Jed, who devised a series of money raising trivia questions:

  • What are canada's two national sports?  (hockey and lacrosse, answered correctly by our French Exchange Student Cynthia!)
  • How many lakes are there in Canada? (unknown. both by our Rotarians and by the Canadian government)
  • Where is Canada's longest covered bridge? (not in Vermont as suggested by someone behind me that sounded like Deb!)
  • How many national parks are there in Canada? (40)
  • What is the highest mountain in Canada? (Mt. Logan)

Happy Bucks:

  • Martin is happy and says thanks to everyone who attended Sear's first anniversary celebration.
  • Julie is happy for the great time had at the Opera House.
  • Don is happy for the profits shown by the bank that (someone) works for....sorry, Don I didn't really get all that.
  • Deb is very, very happy because her son has his dream job: working the eDesk for Doctors Without Borders!  Kudo's!!
  • Garnet is happy that almost all the Lobsterfest tickets are sold.  And will be happier still when the cash is turned in.
  • Randy is happy that he's got the privilege of being one year older.
  • Leanne is happy that her Half Marathon training is on track (up to 13km)

We didn't have a guest speaker today, instead we tended to some Club housekeeping issues.

Cliff Whitfield proposed an amendment to one of our policies and it was passed.

We reviewed our Charitable and General Budgets, had a brief question and answer time led by Kevin Vinnard and passed both Budgets as presented.

It was suggested that for next year the Rotary Train have it's own budget.

Seeing as this portion is so brief, I've taken the liberty of using this space to share a couple of photos:

Cynthia all ready for Prom (sorry it's sideways, can't fix it)

And the Big Bike Riders (check out the white legs on the guy in the middle!!)
