Theme of the Month: Community Economic Development & World Polio Month
Celebrating Community Economic Development
October is Community Economic Development Month, a time when Rotary highlights the importance of empowering local economies and creating opportunities for growth.
A big thank you to all our club members who volunteered at the Orillia Fall Fair. Your energy and service contributed directly to the economic vibrancy of our community. Special thanks to Tony for your leadership in organizing our participation. Your efforts exemplify Rotary’s commitment to strengthening local livelihoods through action.
Honouring Truth and Reconciliation
Last week, we joined our community in observing National Truth and Reconciliation Day and participated in the Orange Shirt March. Thank you to everyone who came out to show support.
A heartfelt thank you as well to Allan LaFontaine for his thoughtful remarks on what Truth and Reconciliation means and how it aligns with Rotary’s values of respect, inclusivity, and service above self.
Looking Ahead
This week, we’ll have a productive meeting with updates on matters before the Board. Members will be asked to vote on receiving the 2025–2026 Charitable and General Budgets, as previously approved by the Board and circulated to members. Please review the circulated budgets in advance as there will not be an open budget presentation during the meeting.
We’ll also hear updates from our committees
Angela will present on the Rotary Train
Marilyn will provide updates on Membership and ClubRunner

Every small action, from volunteering at a local fair to supporting global health, helps create a better, fairer world.
