Tracey Coghlin who has been with the OPP for 23 years, works in the unit that is involved with Serial Predators in Ontario, within the RCMP but based out of the Orillia OPP Headquarters.
Tracey applied and was accepted to go on a peace keeping mission in the Sudan for a year. Her story was amazing. She described the 'container' in which she lived for a year, which was more like a portable, well half a portable. After doubts that she would stay, she met a Ugandan woman named Cathy and became involved with her in helping little girls, with food and shelter. In the beginning they would find ways to feed the girls, but ultimately send them out at night with no shelter. Over the years they have built a building to shelter these girls and teach them to look after themselves. Pictures are worth a thousand words and we were able to see the grim living conditions Tracey and the natives live in. Tracey's outlook on life has changed and she realizes that really, we are so lucky to live in the best country in the world, however if she has her say she will stay in Sudan, where she can make a difference. I cannot stress the impact of the talk she made, it was beyond moving. Thank goodness there are people in world like Tracey. It's important to note that money donated to her, does directly to the kids in the Sudan to feed them. She is leaving in 18 days. Gloria James can get you in touch with her. She also likes Nutella...lol
