Crank & Sprocket, Orillia Sara Jane introduced our guest speaker Tristan Spurr & Ashley Brown of Crank and Sprocket. Tristan and his partner Jacob have had a passion for bikes since a young age, racing bikes and fixing bikes. In 2017 they united and opened Crank & Sprocket. They both have young families, so the whole family is involved. Ashley works in the store with great professional female presence. Jacob's wife, is organizing and getting woman out biking. The two of them have the same passions of giving back to the community in their business. It is wonderful to hear of business's main objectives are giving back. How are they doing this? They are organizing School Bike Rodeos, teaching bike safety in schools with the help of the Health Unit and OPP. They sponsor 2 Youth Development Teams of 140 athletes strong! Crank & Sprocket are happy that they are also, getting families out biking, tourists biking, eating, drinking & shopping in our city. Making Orillia strong. Our new hashtag #Orilliacyclesstrong I would say this company is giving back! Some of there services include: Maintenance and Service of all types of bikes Bike Rentals to Community and as part of Simcoe County's tourism. They work in conjunction with B & B's, Hotels and Orillia Tourism. Provide Maps of Local and Simcoe County Trails Sandra Dunham loves the Crank & Sprocket. She wants us all to try out biking. Sandra says go rent a bike. There rates are anywhere from $ 15.00 - 25.00/day. Wow! You cannot beat that. As Sarah Jane has not been on a bike for a 100 years! She is going to rent a bike for $ 15.00/day, go to girlfriends for some cocktails, some rock & roll and come home the next day! Sounds like a good Girls night out! Then there is Clint (Tony's friend). He rides a great Canadian Tire bike and with a bit of Viagara he is able to ride. It must get him going. Did not know Viagara worked in different ways! I think to keep up and show off to his buddies he will be renting his next bike and will keep up with his riding group. Go Clint Go! Keep us posted. I am happy to hear this new business has doubled its business in 2 years, is focused on keeping up with great service and passionate on giving back to the community. I did not know CAA will pick up your bike if you break down. I think Sarah Jane and Clint should look into this service. Just in case! Please go and check out the Crank & Sprocket for your next bike rental or service. Rotarians care about supporting local business. |
