As promised from last week, here are the celebrations from last weeks meeting at President's Night :

Celebrating a  birthday from our Club  was Chuck Beeton June 22, Cliff Whitfield June 23.  Celebrating a  spous'se birthday was Ron Rumsey, husband of Barb Rumsey  June 18, Julie McKendry, wife of Neil McKendry on  June 19.  Celebrating a wedding anniversary was Roman + Kathryn Martiuk on June 18 and  Neil + Julie McKendry  on June 20.  Looks like Neil was ever so frugal combining festivities one day apart......

And from this week, the only celebration is Tony Telford's birthday on June30th.  You don't look a day older than 80, Tony!  Congrats!

Announcements.  Marilyn announced that Information Orillia was asking for Rotary volunteers to help with their tag days Jujne 27 and 28th.  Let her know if you are able to .    The counsel on legislation for Rotary meets every 3 years.  She asked us if there was anything we would like to change--now's our chanced.

Mary A. passed around a signup sheet for picnic in the park on Tuesday July 15th.  This is when we raise funds for Rotary foundation.  No meeting July 1st.

Nancy Welton indicated that we have received a thank card from Bras for a Cause for our contribution.

Nancy Welton also talked of the train volunteer sign up sheet that was passed around.  We need volunteers.  Wear some Rotary logo if you have it.  You'll be given an $80 float.  Put tickets into the envelope if you have some--they are to be treated like cash and counted.  Bring some water and a snack for yourself.  Put small amounts into the float not big bills.  She will compile a to do list.  Thanks Nance!   We need to record the weather on your shift and record what was going on at the Park i.e. Scottish Festival etc.  There is a cell phone for outgoing Emergency calls, no long distance please.  Student volunteers will be riding in the caboose.  They need to go through the manual and sign it. Have to ensure the horn is working and the student volunteers needs to watch that no one jumps on the train.  Someone will open the station for you and bring you the float.

Kevin spoke about us being 1 week away from the inaugural broadcast of our 1st Rotary Club of Orilla TV bingo.   Tickets will be available in fine stores such as Arts mens wear.  Kevin has posters to be put up to advertise.  Tony spoke of hime much time Kevin has put in on this--Thanks Kev!

Brian P announced the Lighthouse golf fundraiser September 19th at Hawk Ridge.  Funds raised are earmarked for the Lighthouse  mission and the soup kitchen

John Hammill spoke of a special Packet section for Orser Electric's 80th anniversary that is going to print tomorrow.  He asked Rotarian to submit business card ads for the Packet and our Club will also put in an ad as well.

50/50 --Leanne said that  $96 was collected. wow!!!  Kevn won 1st prize of $32.  Kevin won again 2nd prize but manned up and allowed someone else to have a go.  Then Leanne won.  But she womaned up as she was selling them and let someone else have a go.  That someone who finally won 2nd prize of $16 was Brian Petersen.    The excitement made Carl lose more hair.

Sargeant at Arms was our Roving Ralph Requiring Retributions .  Ralph should have been an editor for a local newspaper as he noticed an email between President Angela, President elect Nancy and Tony about "getting off" at the curling club.  I think those three are doing their draft version of Fifty Shades of Red because that's what they each turned at the meeting!!!! President Angela explained the slip up as a "typo".   They were fined!

Roman was fined because despite having donated $90 back from his wife's 50/50 win at president's night, he let his wife win.....hmmmmm.

John Mattinson was fined for bringing a politician to lunch as our speaker ....  Ralph said "Rotarians don't get involved in politics".    hmmmmm

Lawrence was fined because his phone did the one ringee dingee last week.  Vibrate does the trick.

Leanne was fined for saying nasty things about Ralph ( girl, do not do that!) in the bulletin she wrote.  Leanne bless her heart said they were all true!

Doug Langman was fined,  He sunk so low.  Pronounced Cipolla Cipollow.  So Ralphy put on a show.

Angela was fined for accusing Kevin and John for being the worst singers... ( meanwhile they both agreed that they were so no feelings were harmed in the this banter).  Ralph seemed to think so , hence the fine.

Reid won 50/50 at President's Night but Mary conveniently said he was not here to defend himself.

Nancy W had to pay $1 for not providing water to train volunteers, instead told them to BYOW. She asked for a fridge and guess what--Ralph will get us one for a period use at the train station.

Ralph was upset at the lack of the level of intellect when someone  asked the question "Can dogs ride on Trains?  I didn't catch who but they were fined.  HOw come dogs aka Ralph's dog, gets to ride in a convertible?

Carl was fined for losing more hair.  Carl blamed it on Ralph.  Rightfully so!
