Last Week’s Meeting Recap

At our last meeting, we were pleased to hear from Jillian Fennick, Executive Director of Ontario Health Teams. Gillian shared valuable insights about how Ontario Health Teams work to connect health care providers with patients, families, and caregivers, improving communication and coordination across the health system.

Thank you, Jillian, for helping us better understand how this collaborative approach is shaping the future of health care in our region!

RYLA 2025 – Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders

Over this past weekend, three local high school students had the opportunity to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Camp at Muskoka Woods in Rosseau.

Our club was proud to sponsor these young leaders, giving them the chance to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and connect with other youth from across the district.

A huge thank you to Serena and the vocational service team for their work on this.

• September 23 – Hands-On Project at Hillcrest Lodge
  Instead of a regular meeting, we’ll roll up our sleeves and work together to make a difference at Hillcrest Lodge.

Upcoming Volunteering Events & Opportunities

September 23 – Hands-On Project at Hillcrest Lodge

Our next service project, organized by Jennifer Hiltz-Kane and Kirsten Ross, will be volunteering at Hillcrest Lodge. On Tuesday, September 23, instead of our usual meeting, we will be visiting the lodge to help with a variety of tasks including gardening, painting, and moving furniture.

Please remember to email Jennifer to confirm your attendance and let her know where you’re willing to help out.
 

October 4–5 – Orillia Fall Fair @ ODAS Park

We’ve been invited to help with parking at the Orillia  Fall Fair. In exchange, ODAS Park will provide free hall rental for our next Lobster Fest.

Shifts are 2-3 hours Saturday and Sunday. Tony will have a sign-up sheet at Tuesday’s meeting, or you can email him.

Santa Claus Parade - November 22

The holiday season is approaching, and it’s time to start planning our Santa Claus Parade float!

• Tony is leading the charge this year but needs a chair or co-chair to help organize.

• We’re looking for creative ideas and volunteers to make this year’s float the best yet.
