Editor's Notes
I do not know who is with me on this.   I cannot believe it is August already.   Where did July go???

One more month of Summer!  Do not let it pass you by, get out and enjoy the beautiful sunny days, the hot temperatures, the green landscapes we are surrounded by and the lakes & rivers we are blessed to have in our neighborhoods.  Soon our days will be filled with work and volunteer lives. September always seems like the beginning of many things, kids are back in school, routines are back to normal and we focus on working hard so once again we can play hard!

Our Club business meeting at satellite reminded us that we are all here to make a difference,  that is the reason we joined Rotary, Orillia.

Enjoy the lazy, relaxed days of August!
Be safe!

Marilyn introduced Wendy Turner from Deerhurst Resort, we are so excited she wants to join Rotary.
Deborah Dawson joined us again.  I think she likes us since she is signing up as a Rotarian.   A very warm welcome!

Happy Bucks
SUMMERTIME DOLLARS!
We are off to a good Start for August.
Everyone is Happy and so is the money jar!
Thank you Rotarians for all this Summertime Happiness!

Scott   Almost took out President Andrew in the parking lot.   On second thought,  he could not do it because then he would have to step in as President.   He would be our Designated Survivor!

Karen Does any Rotarian know how to muzzle excessive barking dogs? Give Karen a call.   She has found one remedy the Dog Silencer, this emits a high pitched noise the dogs hate.   Karen will be so  Happy when this arrives to try it out.  The other suggestion was to sneak in to the neighbors home and attach the bark collars.    What Rotarians are up for the Dog Silencing Challenge?

Sandra D So Happy for her children's success.   Daughter is through the first round to become a Police Officer in Halifax and her son has become a Media Buyer so he can pay for his Toronto Mortgage.  We all know how much that must be.   Cheers! To all the success in these new careers!

Sharon worked today and also made it to satellite! So Happy you could make it.

Marilyn had 9 days in the big City, New York!  Her drive there was in the pouring rain.  But the reward was fresh Blueberry Pie with her Aunts and Cousin.  They had a full itinerary of shopping, a few cocktails & Horse racing with "Riff Raff and New Members".   By the way these are the horses not the people she was hanging out with.  Marilyn's  horse pics won the prize $$$.   Drinks are on Marilyn with her winnings!  Studebaker's I think she likes to frequent with her committee.
Her house sold and she now gets round two of moving.   Here she comes!  Condo Living!

Francis son is home for two weeks.   Boots and Hearts for them.    Some male bonding too!

Grant slaving away with some manual labour.   Do not work too hard!  Remember it is the lazy days of summer.    Enjoy your time with your son!   Yes!,  eventually teenagers become human.

Nancy had me stumped!   With this story all I caught was the cruise ship, volcanic activity, tsunami, and submerged docks under the water.   Sounds like quite the adventure holiday!   To sign up give Nancy a call.

Deborah's grandmother is 90 with no meds.   Now that is a blessing!   She is totally vibrant, dancing, singing and enjoying life.   Then there is Dean's grandmother 132, August 6th having the time of her life in her next life.

Scott is celebrating 12,000 steps passing the Happy Buck jar from table to table and back to the beginning to start all over again!   He has found another way to increase his step performance too,  he puts the watch on his dog! Happy Stepping the rest of the week!

Julie is Happy to be amongst her beloved Rotarians.   She has missed us all through the summer.   We are Happy to see her at satellite!

Lyn  has been busy, busy, busy with Summertime Parties & busy acquiring a new business shopmuskoka.com.   She has missed us all!

Sandra S
Just to let you know I am so Happy and will contribute to the Happy Buck Jar.   I am just too busy trying to catch all your stories to contribute myself.    I will put my $ 5.00 in next week to catch up.
I am so Happy Sailing!
I am so Happy Lyn and I connected at satellite.
I am so Happy to get to know all of you.

 Club Business with President Andrew

FYI - Club Business meetings will be held 6 times per year.

All about joining a Committee
To make your membership with the Rotary more memorable it has been suggested to engage in joining committee groups.  These small groups meet separately where you will be able to start to know Rotarians more personally.  This enables friendship building, camaraderie,  personal support, making a difference and the practice of having fun at the same time.   The Rotary Board is encouraging Rotarians to join one committee to make our club & community better.

Many of the Committees meet for breakfast, after club meetings or as it has been stated the famous Studebaker's by the water.   Another way to enjoy Orillia's beautiful waterfront!
There are many Committees to choose from, where ever your passions lie.
1. Vocational
2. Foundation
3. International
4. Club Administration
5. Local Needs
6. Special Projects
7. Programs
8. Social
9. Membership/Public Relations

Lots to choose from.    President Andrew will be following up with an email letting us know the chairs or co-chairs of these committees and a description.

Get on board a Committee and make a difference!
