48 years of marital bliss on September 10th will be celebrated by Pat and Garnet Morton.

6 years of Rotary membership bliss is recognized for Nancy Welton!  congrats to all.

Jane and Megan stood up again to be recognized as new members--as always, welcome, welcome, welcome Ladies!!1

Kevin also stood up to announce that he had Bingo cards again this week for distribution by members.  This will hopefully be the last week we as member are to hand them out.  We are making money on Bingo--hoorah!

Marilyn also made an announcement that our Club has ShowYourSupportOrillia  under our wing.   One of their events was Bras for a Cause.  You can vote for the best-decorated bra by putting $ in the boxes for each.  We as a Club have been given $15000 from that group and we are the ones to give out $500 for individuals dealing with cancer to help with incidental costs.  There is an application process.  It is now a project of our club!  So........
On September 26th get your dancing boots out of the closet and lace them up because there is a dance at Odas Park as a fundraiser.  It is only $20 per ticket and features live music with the fab musical sensation  called Suds Sutherland AND the Sensations.....  not only is their live music but this will be the fashion evening of the season with a fashion show featuring...  ( wait for it....) men wearing bras.   What a hoot---great fun way to raise funds especially if lots of us partake in the fun and frolic.    Kevin Vennard was overheard at lunch offering to provide dance lessons to those who were too shy to get out and strut their stuff  so no excuses folks!   Marilyn and Nancy W have tickets.

David Shaw also announced that he needs to get club feedback re:  student exchange program.  Applications go out shortly for next year.  Contact David by email to let him know if you are in support of the program--you will need to indicate if you will host a student for next year in order for us to have an incoming/outbound student.

Julie announced that Dale reminded us about the Bingo night at Brewery Bay September 11th ( I sent out an e-minder just prior to the event so no excuses saying you forgot because you hadn't rec'd your bulletin in time!!!).
And Julie also reminded us of the upcoming event---another Girls Night Out---Fern resort --Thursday October 30th.  This is a BIG club fundraiser and lots of assistance is needed to pull this off with style and aplomb.  You should have already rec'd a Save the Date email from me to share, get the word out and let get lots of tickets sold when they are ready for distribution.    Sorry guys--no matter how many bras or how well-decoarated they may be, no tickets for you!    Julie--wouldn't that be a great idea.....fashion show the night of???

Randy  "knock it down and build it back up differently"   was the winner of 50/50 draw  with $17 to woo his wife with and  Laura won 2nd prize of $12

Ralph was AWOL in regards  to fulfilling his  S/Arms duties  ( but in all fairness he did contact me to ask at the very very last minute to fill in but I didn't get the email in time).     Dave Shaw  stepped up to the job and did it well!  No one escaped his wrath and knack for cashing in for the club:

Tony A was fined just because.....because he hadn't been fined in a while.    Randy was fined for winning 50/50.  Kevin was fined for losing Rotary documents in the parking lot.  He must have sent up a mighty loud Prayer because no other than Captain Jim Mercer found it and turned it in including $20 attached.  Ann was fined for driving while blind having just visited an optimetrist who was left unnamed.  Kevin was fined because he said it was ok.  Kevin indicated he was, however NOT the optometrist  in question.

Happy bucks:  $2 happy from Vic  as Dale finished the walk to end cancer and for finding someone who had the very 'Vette seats he was looking for ( that's Vic all right, always sitting down on the job)
Rick was $2 happy because one of his staff won at Rotary TV Bingo--$400 and now all of his staff are hooked  ( we are all happy about that!).  $2 happy for Rick playing bingo himself and enjoying it and for all the claims he has rec'd as a result of the recent inclement weather

nancy W  happy as she sat in her daughter's car during above-mentioned inclement weather as a tree landed in front of the car....and tree landed behind the car.

Ann Z.  is  happy  too re:  above inclement weather that a tree fell down and missed their company's trucks.  and she is also happy she was able to get her eyes checked.
Keith Mc. was happy that  his OWLP staff did such a great job getting the power back during the above-mentioned inclement weather aka horrific storm last weekend.  Thanks guys!    And he was also happy he got good Eye advice from above-mentioned optometrist Kevin

John Madden. was  happy to be part of Rotary TV Bingo crew as he solo'd a tech position and things went off smoothly--great job John!  He was pleased he didn't knock us off the air.  ( that would have left Kevin showing Tv viewer how to salsa)
Marilyn  was happy that she and her husband went to Wasaga beach  with the Australian study exchange group for a reunion.  There were many wine bottles in the blue box.  She was also happy that Dale has had Giant Tiger and Home Hardware now as ticket venues for the upcoming sensational dance September 26th.

Julie was happy that she had the opportunity to go to two family wedding on the same day--her nephew's and then her great niece.

John Mattinson was happy and proud that his son Marcu has his private pilot's license.  He is also happy that his son successfully got John safely back on the ground after a flight.  Way to go Marcus!

Brian P is pleased that his UPS store is having an open house 5-7pm  September 18 and we're all invited for the 20 year celebration of their opening and the Bra his store has decorated for Bras for a Cause will be onsite.  Congrats Brian!

Rob K was happy and showed us a picture plaque from the Orillia legion minor baseball league thanking our Club for the donation.

Kevin was happy that his son Nick played his 2nd U of Waterloo football game.  Quite the spread against the winning team Mcmaster U....but it's not if you win or lose, right?

Tony T. was happy about the upcoming Int'l Plowing Match  from Tuesday until Saturday just S of Barrie off #27.

Shot of the Rotary Train tracks Saturday afternoon after the storm hit Couchiching Park.

Nancy A and Julie Scott warming up for this year's Girls Night Out on October 30th.

Kevin in his glory big smile on his face, knowing that Bingo will be a wonderful fundraiser for our club.  This is live tv action folks--not too late to join up and come down to learn the ropes!
