Announcements:

° If you have not signed up for President's Night et (June 20th), please see Julie Scott. If you are attending you are encouraged to bring a Swim Suit!

° The Kiwanis Club are hosting a "Hoe Down" and you can see Marilyn for more details.

° Cliff needs checks from anyone who made donations at our Dutch Auction.

° Tony gave us an update on the condition of the Train track. A great showing on our first attempt to renovate the track made for a lot of progress though the work was far from finished. A poor turn out the last time means there is still a good amount of work to be done. The inspector comes tomorrow (June 7th) and we're hoping to get the go ahead with the understanding the work gets finished. That means another Day BEFORE JULY where we hope to have a good showing to finish the work that needs to be done this year. Several suggestions were made regarding ways we might move forward in the future. It was also noted that going forward perhaps we ought to poll the club for the best days for these events to insure availability of members.

Sarge and Happy Bucks

Ralph was Sargent today and charged Andrew for being "late" as the greeter, though it seemed up for debate.
Tony T was fined $2 for a comment made to Bill - confirmed by Nicole.
Greg was fined $2 because of the relocation of some Banks "which shall remain nameless" and the relocation was chaulked up to the Success of Scotia Bank!
Wendy, for donating her winnings back, was instead given the ability to fine anyone in the room - she chose Ralph - well done Wendy.

Brenda was "fined" for making us sing "Happy Birthday" again, but the fine was a Kiss on Ralph's cheek. With that said, I think we all ought to be careful not to be fined while Ralph is Sarg. surprise

 laughHappy Bucks!!

    LOTS of Happy people today:
- Brenda was happy her Dad is on the mend - we share that sentiment Brenda!
- Randy was happy for a great Birthday in Niagara with his Twin brother.
- Angela was happy about her Daughter being the "Kiwanis Terrific Kid" for the month.
- Brian paid an "Honor buck" for his dad who flew during D-Day. Thanks Brian's Dad.
- Marilyn was happy she is going to Attend the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta. Not only Marilyn, Laura and Ann are also going and also paid Happy Bucks.
- Wendy was thankful for a great 30th Anniversary with her Husband spent on the Cabot Trail (NS), and that her Youngest Son was safe amid the attacks in London.
- John was happy for the upcoming Baseball Day in Orillia at which Roberto Alomar will be present!
- Kevin paid a happy buck for his time in BC. Though bittersweet, it was a wonderful time with Family and Friends. Our thoughts are still with you Kevin.

Program
We were able honor and encourage 5 Students this week with our Student of the Month. We have some truly amazing and Inspiring young people.

Marilyn and Nicole gave a good and insightful presentation about the potential direction of our New Fundraiser should we decide to go with a Car Raffle.

The intention of the Fundraiser is to raise around $50,000 for a Major Project. The last one Rotary oversaw was in 2012 (and was $20,000. The last project over that was the year before - 2011 - where Rotary put $95,000 into the community, specifically into Rotary Place).

The idea behind the Raffle as opposed to other fundraiser ideas was because, with the Automatic blanket Mailouts, over time, this would be minimal work for the club, though the first couple years may take significant investments of time.

It was decided that the shorter timeframe of 6 months was a better schedule. The anticipated individual ticket sails required (outside hours given at booths throughout the project) was around 20 tickets per Rotarian. The Projected profit was $47,000.

The importance of knowing where the money was going ahead of time, and to be clearly portrayed throughout the fundraiser was brought up by several members.

Marilyn also thanked several people for their involvement in the project to date.

Thanks to Marilyn and Nicole for a good presentation.
