Editors Comment. This note can’t adequately summarize Allan’s dynamic life and many accomplishments, but if you missed the meeting, this is an abbreviated recap.
Allan grew up in North Bay in a predominantly Italian neighbourhood. Music, hunting and fishing were big part of his youth. After a couple of years in Ottawa, Allan returned to North Bay where he obtained his Accounting Diploma. He later added a Marketing diploma to his education. A large part of his career has been in tax consulting and he started a company that became the Tax Recovery Group. His tax consulting work has covered virtually all aspects of tax recovery from execution of recovery claims to training and education , across a wide variety of public and private sector clients. It has taken him all over Canada including working with many First Nations communities and travelling to remote communities.
Allan is married to Tammy and they have 2 daughters. He has been Managing Director of the Orillia Chamber of Commerce for past year. Allan inherited a love of music from his mother, is a self-taught guitarist and is still in a band today.
