Vocation ... "called" to be a priest

January is "vocational" month in the Rotary calendar.  Rotarians acknowledge that diversity in membership is important as we go about service to others.  Indeed the second object of Rotary states:

"that we encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society."

Marie Loewen is a friend of Rotary.  Her husband Rob is a former member and their son Dr. Peter Loewen is World Affairs Seminar alum.  Earlier in her career she worked in the insurance industry before becoming an Anglican priest.  Although she has retired from her time as a parish priest, she remains involved in the Anglican Church and in her community.

As we look at the value of various vocations, today we will learn a little more about her "profession" ... her "calling" ... as well as an upcoming mission project.
