Program Overview

The Adventures in Tourism is a four day cooperative experience for high school students (ages 15-18). The objective of the program is to provide students with information about career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry. The students are housed in cottages at Elmhirst Resort in Keene, Ontario and participate in a series of workshop sessions and travel throughout the area touring and learning about various types of tourism-related businesses, occupations and services. The program is hosted by the Rotary Club of Bridgenorth-Ennismore-Lakefield.

Participation

The Midland Rotary Club will sponsor two local students, one from Georgian Bay District Secondary School and one from St. Theresa's High School.

Selection Process

In February, the schools will be contacted to request recommendations for candidates for participation. Appropriate candidates will be interviewed in March and the successful applicant will be chosen by a panel of Rotarians.

Program Date

The students selected will participate in the program in April.
