Opening: O’Canada, Rotary Grace and Toast to Queen and Canada. Well done!
Guests: Sgt. at Arms Jill read the 3 guests names. Dan’s daughter Shannon Donaldson visited from the far North again. We are always so pleased to have her company. Gary Burns our newest perspective member, certainly not lacking in Rotary experience and Janice Craig, Jill’s guest who is doing a University co-op placement at Hospice. She was certainly an eager guest selling the 50/50 draw tickets for us.
Humorist: Dom shared a cute joke about confusion over a menu in a Maritime restaurant.
Duty Roster for Christmas lunch, Monday December 14th
Sgt at Arms: Cathy Danbrook and Christine Paradoski
Thanker and Fine Master: Michelle Gage
Greeter and Prize: Greg Evans
Humorist: Dan
Business: Reminder for next week, please let Sharon know if you are attending and if you plan on bringing a guest who we are always so pleased to have join us. We are having at turkey dinner with all the trimmings and we will be entertained by 2 young ladies from LCVI. One, Nicole Corley is our RYLA student from last year and Riley Van Haltern will accompany her on the guitar. The meal will be $20.00 and believe me the entire event will be well worth it.  (highpoint@explorenet.ca)
Congratulations to John Hagarty and his fellow officers and others who raised over 2000 lbs. and additional cash for the Food Bank.
Important message about Rotanza: If in attendance at lunch you have probably received your tickets for Rotanza and in addition a very informative message from Lynda as to how it all works has been sent out. Who wouldn’t want a red mustang and a night’s entertainment and good food in their stocking? We owe appreciation to both Lynda and Anthony for a lot of hard work and perseverance getting the tickets out the earliest ever. Don’t wait until Spring to sell them. If you need more tickets check with Anthony, Lynda or Dom.
January 4th, our first meeting of the New Year will be a Classification talk by one of our newer members and a Business Meeting.
Doorprize: the very attractive floral prize was donated by Al Goard and won by Lynda.
Fine master Christine then went to work:
Rohan announced the recent Birthdays, Adam and Sharon and everyone joined in a great rendition of Happy Birthday. Much appreciated!
Blair’s oldest granddaughter is now a teenager. Have fun with that Blair.
Jill welcomed Janice and expressed her pleasure in having her at Hospice. Janice is a U of T Doctor of Divinity Student doing her Co-op placement at Hospice. Jill is also pleased to be heading to Calgary and no doubt the mountains around Golden to have Christmas with Twila. We’ll be anxious to hear all about Twila’s new place at Golden. Jill, don’t forget to come back!!!
50/50: although I could have used the $32.50 for Christmas shopping I drew the 2 of spades so the pot lives.

Moved by Al Goard and seconded by John Hagarty.  Passed unanimously.
Special thanks to Al and his Committee for the time spent preparing the list of officers, the phone calls and communication involved is huge and we are so appreciative. Thank you to all those who are willing to be members of the Board. Your commitment is so appreciated.
Other business: Club Treasurer John Bennett expressed concern over the cost of the use of credit/debit cards for the payment of meals ($8 to $12 a month banking fees). John Coxon is going to consult the Peterborough Club as to how they use the cards for purchases of a number of meals at one time. This would involve things like the tracking, how a purchaser pays for his meal at the time of the lunch and various other concerns.
Meeting adjourned. Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.
