Finemaster Bert Lauwers did a great job of rounding up happy and sad bucks.
There were several sad bucks for the loss of Peter Milner and several happy bucks for the visit from Twila Del Fatti. Twila gave a happy buck and invited everyone to come and visit them in Golden BC once her house is completed in December. Jill gave a happy buck for the Community Care Gala which went well and a sad buck for the Richmond Hill who have decided to stop singing the national anthem at meetings.
Blair gave a buck as he is heading to Cleveland with son and grandson for a ball game and there was a happy buck for Jason Willock who was golfing. Jim Mackey was sad for his ducks and Lynda was happy after drag racing in Shannonville on the weekend. President Dan was happy because his eldest daughter would be arriving for a visit before heading back to Yellowknife.
Program: Tom Regehr, the Founder, and Becca Partington, the Coordinator, for Cast Canada spoke on
Understanding, Preventing and Responding to Workplace Trauma
Cast Canada helps professionals and corporations better understand the role of trauma and unresolved grief and how it applies to mental health concerns such as addictions, depression, chronic stressors through workshops, training and keynote speaking throughout Ontario and across Canada. Trauma can be an event, series of events, or the environment that can overwhelm your ability to cope. Signs of Traumatic Overwhelm include lack of appetite, inability to concentrate, feelings of depression, and anxiety, inability to function and inability to sleep. It can affect employee retention and turnover and morale. It can be dealt with in organizations by creating change and nurturing an open environment. Start by engaging in challenging conversations.
Bert Lauwers thanked our guests for their presentation.
The 50/50 draw ticket belonged to speaker Tom Regehr but he failed to pull the joker so the pot lives.
President Dan’s Word of the Week – Munificent; An adjective meaning extremely liberal in giving; generous
