Program

On September 7, 2017 at Domani Ristorante members welcomed the Reverend Felix Ugwuozor,a visiting Rotarian from Nigeria.

His subjects included a discussion of a Joint Water Project with District 7490 Rotary Clubs and One Hope Children, a foundation that he established in 2010.

The Joint Water Project involves the installation of a clean water system in his home village in Nigeria.   He is seeking additional funds in order to obtain a generator that would bring the water to the surface.

Reverend Felix spoke of his family, saying that his father died from the effects of black lung disease when he was 10 years old.  He was the fourth of six children. His mother took on many menial jobs in order to send her children to school. As a child, he said, he would walk several miles every day in order to obtain clean water for his family. One Hope Children relates to children like himself who struggled or couldn’t go to school. The foundation focuses on education and clean water. After he spoke to the Rotary club in Wyckoff/Midland Park in 2010, they helped fund his Nigeria projects. He became a Rotarian in Nigeria. He was able to obtain funding to drill for water. Now his village has enough clean water, however they need to make it sustainable by obtaining a generator.
