Program:  Dr. Steve Carpenter is our guest speaker.  Dr. Carpenter is the Director of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute, and is a seasoned executive with 30 years of experience in the international energy and mining industry. He is an internationally recognized Subject Matter Expert on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), climate change, carbon, and risk management issues.  His work includes technical assessment, public policy, legal and regulatory issues, training and education, for numerous governmental agencies and international companies.

President Dick Jay called the meeting to order with the ring of the bell and welcomed everyone to today’s meeting.

Club History:
Deb Theriault gave us some more history of our club from 1924-1927.
 
Family of Rotary:
Bill Schilling let us know that Rod Aaker had heart surgery recently and that Steve Domonkos has a pre-cancerous skin removal procedure done. 
 
Rotarians of the Week:
Dick Jay nominated Bill DeGraeve and family for being Fran's host family. 
Dick Jay nominated Ronna Boril for organzing the social event at Gruner Brothers Brewing.
Chad Nelson nominated Cori Cosner-Burton and Anne Rubel for their planning of an event at the Nicolaysen.
Daron Gruner was nominated for hosting the social event at Gruner Brothers Brewing. 
Mike Ward noted that Friday was the 109th Anniversary for the Boy Scouts and nominated all past Boy and Girl Scouts. 
Steve Loftin nominated the numerous volunteers that helped at the Food Bank of the Rockies. 
Peaches Lynch nominated Lynette Boatright for holding a surprise birthday party for Fran over the weekend. 
Bill DeGraeve nominated Francisco Deluca for receiving an "Outstanding Musician" award at the Kinser Jazz Festival
Francisco Deluca nominated Miamie Sleep for taking Fran to a City Council Meeting. 
 
There was a special presentation made by Francisco Deluca, Mathis Bouyer, Oscar Chavez, Ben Winckler and Lynette Boatright about the Rotary Youth Exchange Fundraising Dinner scheduled for March 10th. It will be at Frontier Brewery. It's an open-house concept starting at 4:00 pm. Admission is $45 per person and includes a French-Argin-Mex Menu. This is a fundraiser to help our Youth Exchange students go on the West Coast Trip. Over 50 exchange students from Wyoming and Colorado are going to go on the trip, making it a time where they'll be able to build strong friendships, meet people from all over the world and discover some of the great places in America!

Rebecca Steinhoff, sponsored by Bill Schilling,  was inducted into the club today.
Chastidy Greenwood received her Blue Badge today.
 
Announcements:
Richard Schwan announced there will be three (3) Board vacanies coming up. Dr. Schwan also reminded us to continue working on our 100 Acts of Service journals.
Tim Havasi spoke about the UW Ladies Tennis team coming to the Wyoming Athletic Club on Friday, March 1st. 
Tim Monroe announced that there are forms on the table for the Club History Centennial Project so please fill one out and leave them on the table.
Bert Toews announced that the Society of Professional Journalists is looking for participants in a discussion that starts February 12th. Email casperproject@spj.org or contact Bert for more information. 

Student of the Month:
Audrey Mitchell was our SOM today, a great young lady from KWHS.
 
Program:
President Elect John Griffith invited Dave True to introduce our speaker today, Dr. Jack Mason. Dr. Mason is the Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Mason asked for our feedback on their program. President Dick Jay concluded the meeting at 1:28 letting us know that next week we will be back at the Ramkota. The speaker will be Dr. Steve Carpenter, the Director of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute.

Upcoming Board Openings
