Call to order:
- President Chastidy Cockrum called the meeting to order at 6:31 AM.
Approval of Minutes:
- Lori Klatt made a motion to approve the September board meeting minutes. After a second by David Simonson and a vote all in favor, the motion passed.
Secretary’s Report (Nicole Tholson)
- Membership is currently at 126 (124 Active + 2 Honorary)
- New members- Tristan Neal (Anthony Martinez)- waiting on payment, Brian Helling (Steven Schnell and Jason Dewitt)- in two week waiting period.

Miamie Sleep made a motion to approve the leave of absence requests as presented. After a second by Brandon Cockrum and a vote all in favor, the motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report (Glenn Januska)
- Glenn pointed out a new line on the financials for dividend income on the Ken Kurtz endowment. He noted that he is still working out how to list it and that it is not necessarily money that is available to spend.
- Glenn talked through the financials, noting that the meeting expense dues from members are down a bit, which is something to keep an eye on as those fund most of the operations. He also indicated that Lenhart Mason is looking into why the bookkeeping fees are so much higher this year. He reported that there was not much new on the charitable and service side, noting that the golf tournament proceeds have not been paid out yet. Danny Smith agreed to reach out to those with past due accounts over 120 days.
- Tammi Chappell made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report. After a second by Taylor Schwahn and a vote all in favor, the motion passed.
Old Business:
- Duck Derby MOU with City of Casper- Nick Whipps presented a draft memorandum of understanding between the club and the City of Casper for future Duck Derby involvement by the city. Miamie Sleep asked why the draft indicated that 100% of the net proceeds from the event would fund city projects, indicating that this was not the number previously discussed. After discussion about the other charitable and service projects that the Duck Derby funds support, Glenn Januska offered to edit the language regarding the funding committed to city projects and send that out to the board members. No further action was taken on the MOU.
- Hearts and Hands Companion Club
Chastidy Cockrum reported that only 1 person showed up to the meeting last week, but that they are continuing to work on recruiting.
Chastidy also brought up the need for the board to approve the dues for the new companion club. After discussion, Tammi Chappell made a motion to set the dues at $125/quarter. After a second by David Simonson and a vote all in favor, the motion passed. Companion club members will be allowed to attend our club socials and projects, but will need to pay for their meals if they attend a Monday lunch meeting.
- Sergeant-at-Arms position- Chastidy shared that she is getting nominations for the new Sergeant-at-Arms position and that the board will vote on it at the November meeting.
New Business:
- Bank account- Chastidy reminded the board that at the September meeting they had voted to add Miamie Sleep as a signer on the bank account and to remove Nick Whipps as Miamie and Nick switched positions in the line of succession. Chastidy asked that the board consider adding Miamie but also leaving Nick on the account to make it easier to locate a signer when there are checks ready. Tammi Chappell made a motion to add Miamie Sleep as a signer on the bank account and to keep Nick Whipps on the account as well. After a second by Brandon Cockrum and a vote all in favor, the motion passed.
- Christmas Festivities- Chastidy shared that the Christmas Party will be on December 15th and Lori Klatt is planning it. The Christmas social is on December 11th and Miamie Sleep is hosting and planning.
