Ponderings from the President
by Mike Howe

With a new Rotary year comes a new Rotary theme, and I wanted to share a little background about that theme.  RI President Shekhar Mehta’s theme is “Serve to Change Lives,” and this highlights the central motivation of Rotarians to make a difference through service.

President Shekhar has said, “Service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy on this earth.”  He has also said, “The more we are, the more we can do,” and that aligns well with one of his initiatives “Each One Bring One”.  This is an initiative I will briefly talk about on Monday, and then challenging each of you to help with.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve and support you this Rotary year.

Parade Float

Our club is registered to have a float in the parade on Tuesday, July 13th. We are inviting as many members and their families to join us in celebrating Rotary in this parade.  We should have room for some riders on the float, and have lots of room for folks to walk along the float to throw candy and toy ducks out to all those watching the parade. This is always a fun time and is a great way to promote Rotary and the Duck Derby.

Questions? Please reach out to John Griffith at 307-258-9778.

Duck Derby Ticket Sales

How are your sales going? We will be selling tickets at Beartrap Festival on Friday, August 6 through Sunday, August 8th. This is another great opportunity to sell Duck Derby tickets. Volunteers are needed to work 2+ hour shifts. Ready to take a shift? Please coordinate with Miamie at miamie@greendogwyo.com.
