Program (Casper College Workforce Training):
President Elect John Griffith introduced our speaker today, Lesha Thorvaldson who introduced her colleague Sarah Schneider. They are the workplace training specialists from Casper College. They are here to tell us about the workforce training at CC. They work with Open Enrollment, Customized Training and Conferences and Institutes. They have placed catalogs on the table that have the list of open enrollment classes for individuals to take as they like, the catalog comes out three times a year. Next she spoke to us about the customized training that they can do to help develop your trainees. They can customize it to train your staff in the areas you need. When you train your employees it helps decrease turnover and increases employee loyalty as they feel valued that you are investing in them. If you do not train your employees and develop them they will leave and this increases turnover which increases your costs by an average of 20% of their annual income in order to replace them. The customized training can be done for every person in your company and for any type of company. Sarah gave us some examples of the different companies that they have worked with and things they can do. They can do easy training from simple computer training to the more complex training of customer service and leadership skills along with other areas. Lesha then told us that the customized training can be customized to the way you want it done and when you want it done. She gave us some quotes from past companies they have helped praising the results from the CC training. Sarah then spoke about the conference and institute services. They can do annual training conferences for those industries that require the CE annually or they can help set up the space and caterers etc. for you to do your own training. It is better to call them to help find speakers, space etc. since this is what they do and they have the connections to get it done and to get the CE credits needed for attending. They also do long running institutes which are similar to the conferences but are more focused training for particular industries so that several business from that industry can split the cost. She had a testimonial from our very own Steven Schnell about an institute that he attended for nonprofit leaders. They work with everything from soft skills to computer beginners to communication skills all the way up to 500 people conferences. Please give them a call if you have questions about your needs and if they can help your company.

President Elect John Griffith concluded the meeting at 1:12 letting us know that next week we will be back at the Ramkota. The speaker will be Jack Mason, from UW.
