Rotary Exchange Student
She's here! A big Casper welcome to our new exchange student, Alice, who has come to stay with us all the way from Uganda. She'll be here for an entire school year and would love to meet as many of you as possible. Let us know if you'd like to help plan fun adventures to show Alice what makes Wyoming so great!
August Speakers
On August 1st we welcomed Sarah Compton, the Executive Director of the Wyoming Congressional Award Council (WCAC). The WCAC recognizes initiative, achievement, and service in Wyoming’s young people. The Congressional Award was established in 1979 and is a non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive program open to all youth.
On August 8th, we met at the Ford Wyoming Center to hear from Governor Mark Gordon.
On August 15th, President Miamie Sleep gave us an update on all things currently going on in Rotary.
On August 22nd, we met at the Hilton Garden Inn and heard Lance Neiberger from the Natrona County Suicide Prevention Task Force speak to us about suicide awareness.
On August 29th we welcomed Rotary District Governor Lee Vera-Nelson. Members requested a copy of Lee's presentation slides which can be viewed here.
September Speakers
There will be NO MEETING on September 5th due to the Labor Day Holiday.
On September 12th, we will welcome Dan Wiseman to talk about the Holocaust Remembrance and Jewish culture in Casper.
Our own Liz Becher and Carter Napier will be speaking about the City's 1 Cent projects on September 19th. This meeting will be at the Hilton Garden Inn.
On September 26th, IBM Fellow and Chief Scientist Grady Booch will join us via Zoom to talk about IBM's quantum computing and their efforts to return to the moon.
Save the Dates
On September 6th at 5:15 pm, we will meet at Rotary Park for a work evening tightening cables.
On September 17th at 8:30 am, we will finish painting and repairs at Jimmy's House, 1453 S. Jackson.
Our next Club Social will be on September 27th at 5 pm. More info to be announced at upcoming meetings.
The Great Duck Derby

Jennifer E. Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, is Rotary International’s president for 2022-23, a groundbreaking selection that makes her the first woman to hold that office in the organization’s 115-year history.
She is the founder and president of Media Street Productions, an award-winning 27-year-old media company in Windsor, Ontario. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland.
Jennifer's talents have strengthened Rotary's reach and impact as she has served in roles including vice president, director, Rotary Foundation trustee, and co-chair of the End Polio Now: Make History Today fundraising campaign.

ShelterBox has deployed an emergency response team to Pakistan after severe monsoon flooding has displaced more than 1 million people.
Over 33 million people have been affected by the flooding. Many homes have sunk in flood water or been swept away; tragically, more than 1,100 people have lost their lives, and this number is still climbing.
Working with local partners - including local Rotary districts - our team on the ground will asses shelter and other humanitarian needs as we map our response. The team will focus on the hardest hit areas first, including Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan.
ShelterBox has emergency shelter aid prepositioned in the region and has deployed to more than 75 flood disasters including in Pakistan in 2010. ShelterBox is well-positioned to help displaced families who have lost everything.
