In 2016 Nicola joined Defence SA as Director of the Space Industry and R&D Collaborations project.

In September 2017 the South Australian Space Industry Centre was created, with Nicola as Director. His focus was to support space industry growth and increase international R&D collaborations in South Australia’s space sector.

In 2018 Nicola was appointed Adjunct Professor at the University of South Australia – Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment and he was appointed on the board of the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA).

The Marshall Government will be partnering with the South Australian space industry to send a locally manufactured small satellite to low Earth orbit – the first State Government to ever embark on such a mission.

“South Australia is embarking on a bold mission with industry to design and build a satellite to deliver space-derived services to the state – a venture never undertaken before by any State Government around the country,” Premier Marshall said. 

Also speaking will be Paul Duke who will talk about his career in Medicine.

In 2003 after several years building a successful career in London, Anthony returned to his home town of Adelaide.  He was a typical 28-year-old, meeting the stereotype of an ambitious male seeking his dream job.  Privately and shamefully, however, he was living a daily battle with anxiety and depression.  

During October 2003, overwhelming shameful for the way he was feeling and scared of being judged, Anthony continued to ignore the signs.  On the 7th November 2003, sleep-deprived, suffering with depression and on medication, at 7pm that night he made a significant attempt on his life.  A stroke of sheer luck saw him survive.  It was during his incredible five year recovery, he discovered and developed a rehabilitation program that today is known as the Lifeback Tracker.
