Bell Ringer X 2 - Emmett Swarat   Emmett shared that he was ringing the bell twice, once for his impending honeymoon next week... a bit earlier than previously planned... and once more for a sooner than originally planned addition to their family.  He and his fiancé, Deanna, had planned on getting married next March.  They abruptly moved the date of their wedding up to accommodate the reason for the second ringing of the bell, a new baby.  This has caused a lot of stress with changing all the dates for the wedding and the honeymoon, but they are both excited and happily anticipating both life changing events.                                                        Congratulations Emmett and Deanna.

Sad Bucks - Past President Bill Hambrick   Bill noted that this Friday marks the 25th anniversary of the 911 atrocities.  He reminded everyone to keep the families of those that lost loved ones in the event in mind. The event changed our world tremendously; in ways we will never fully understand.

Sac Metro Fire and Arden Arcade Rotary Making our community safer, One AED at A Time!

The Citizens Response Program is an effort led by the Sac Metro Fire Department to put AEDs throughout all neighborhoods within their district.  They were so impressed by our club's efforts to make the schools and parks safe that they wanted to expand the concept for the larger community.  They have partnered with our club to take advantage of our connections and experience in getting and managing grants to help them with this effort. We are proud to be helping them save the lives of our community members.

This Saturday they had a sketch and paint party at Al's house.   Bill Hambrick got the club a little project for American River Parkway. We are painting eight reindeers and Rudolph on plywood. We're going to have people tracing and painting it from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. and get as far as we can. Depending on the turnout, we may have to do another paint party. They're going to take these reindeer heads and disperse them throughout William Pond Park in early December. The kids get to go out and look for the little reindeers in the woods. By the looks of things, they made good progress and had a great time.

Students from Christo Rey High School Cross Country Team Members Shoes keep the program running!   Only Traffic and trains can stop these runners.
