Cal Fire Lunch Meeting

Week #41 - President Patrick O’Neil
(CalFire Field Trip!)

This account of the CalFire lunch meeting picks up fifteen minutes into the meeting.  I m sure that President Patrick O’Neil, started the meeting right on time and did a splendid job of welcoming everyone to the meeting, thanking CalFire for agreeing to show us around. I figure that Al Cady must have chimed in at some point providing needed logistical information needed for the functioning of the meeting.  Then the Prez would have turned the meeting over to Thomas Stepanovich.  When I arrived Thomas was presenting an overview of how Cal Fire orchestrates air attacks on wildland fires.  He also showed a video on actual retardant drops on fires.

Sandwiches, chips, a drink and cookies were brought to the meeting by Jenny Davini.  Jenny was delayed by an unfortunate encounter between her vehicle and another vehicle resulting in minor damage to her vehicle.  The good news is that she was not injured and the lunches arrived in sufficient time to be enjoyed by the club members and numerous guests in attendance.  The Cal Fire crew appreciated the lunches also.

After lunch questions were asked and answered and then the fun began, the tour of the base.
