Lunch Outing at
Week #14 - President Robert Olmstead III
(Wining & Dinning)
President Robert Olmstead III took his show on the road,
thanks to Tom Goode and his friends at Brasswood Winery in Napa Valley
(Please note; the Editor was not in attendance so all of the comments accompanying these pictures are purely conjecture and may not resemble reality.  However, it has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so, this will be a very wordy newsletter.)
Introduction of Visiting Rotarians and Guests
There were Visiting Rotarians as well as many guests as you can see in the pictures below.
Who is that guy dressed like a Canadian in the vest on the right?
Pictures? No one said anything about pictures.  I told my boss I was on sales calls.
Of course wer're happy, we're on our way to get wine!
I see the wine and the women but it doesn't look like Rob is singing.
Do you come here often?
Keeping an eye on Rob!
Someone has to!
We asked for Rose' and they sent us here?
Steve Turner thanking Tom Goode for a great event!
Wine for the ride home, just in case they run out.
We had 25 people on the ride up and only 24 now, who's missing?
Announcements and Other Fun Stuff
Holiday Party
This year’s Holiday Party is being held on Friday, December 9th on the Delta King in Old Sacramento.  Mark your calendars now so you do not double book the date.  You will not want to miss this event as it coincides with the Christmas light boat parade.
Effie Yeaw Tortoise Enclosure
Greg Cotta reported that the weekend's event at Effie Yeaw went very well with the exception of the concrete found where dirt was supposed to be. Al Cady and crew att Al's Lumber Mill and Bar had a great time making sawdust.  Everyone's fingers remained on their hads and no toes were crushed so Al claimed it as a successfuyl endeavor, dead redwood trees are now beautiful redwood boards.  A few Rotarians were able to assemble on Friday morning, October 21st to provide good visuals for the Good Day Channel 31 interview.
Sunday, October 23rd is the big construction day when Arden Arcade and Carmichael Rotarians will finish the job started on October 15th. Bring your favorite shovel, rock bar, or wheel barrow you would like to use, feel free to bring it/them.  This is a come-when-you-can and leave-when-you-have-to event.  Please note that Berco Lumber on Auburn Blvd. is donating a lot of lumber for this project.  Please patronize them and let them know you appreciate them being a good community partner.

Cowboy Sparkles
Guest Speaker, Brasswood Winery
We want to thank Brasswood Winery for a great day of Frindship, Food, Fun and of course...Wine!
Secret Word
The Secret Word was Sparkles.  They had to call the news letter editor to find out.  Not sure who got it or didn't get it.  Not even sure why they needed it? Did they have a drawing?  Did someone win? Come to the next meeting to find out.
President Robert Olmstead III rounded everyone up
and got them back on the bus.
It was a great day!
It was really good wine!
The company was outstanding!
The ride home was a happy, if not a tiring one.  Who could blame Steve Turner for nodding off.  He said he was not the only one recharging his batteries, just the only one with photo evidence.

Mike Grace
