Annual Community Grants Program

 
The Rotary Club of Arden Arcade’s Community Grant Program is designed to assist the club in awarding Community Grants from the Club’s 501(c)3 Foundation in a consistent and transparent manner.  Its secondary goal is to engage with our community groups to increase the visibility and effectiveness of Rotary Clubs Internationally.  
 
The Board's "Community Grant Review Committee" will promote the program and accept applications from organizations and individuals in the Arden-Arcade and Sacramento Area consistent with the objectives and purpose of the Rotary Club of Arden Arcade. The Community Grant Review Committee will investigate and review the applications submitted in concert with the priorities of the program, and will make recommendation to the Club's Board of Directors. The Rotary Club of Arden Arcade's Board of Directors is the final approving authority on all Community Grants. 
 
Applications should be submitted on the Club approved PDF Application, or an electronic substitute with the same available information.
  • The Club utilizes emails and the website to solicit and receive Grant Applications in the Fall and Spring of each year. 
    • The Fall process generally opens around August 1st to September 30th and grants are awarded in October 
    • The Spring process generally opens around February 1st to March 30th and grants are awarded in April
 

Grant Award Priorities

 
Grant awards are made in supporting the following Club priorities:
  • Does the application request... 
    • Serve the Arden Arcade Community?
    • Support Rotary International's Goal of "Service Above Self"
    • Help one of our key audiences; Children, Veterans, Seniors and/or housing impaired families
    • Provide Rotary with positive visibility in local areas
    • Include the recipients commitment to report back to the Club on the projects impact in the Community. 
Examples of previously awarded Community Grants include; Sporting Team Uniforms, scoreboards and fencing, Bike Trail Benches/work stations, Scouting Projects, School Classroom needs, Community Unity Program Sponsorships, American River College Academic Competition Awards, Shoes for a local Cooking School Program, Running Shoes for Track Teams, etc.… 
 
Community Grants are NOT usually awarded for; general operations or operating expenses,  event sponsorships, individual or small group travel trips. 
 

Grant Application Procedures

 
All grant applications shall be submitted on a Rotary Cub of Arden Arcade Community Grant Application (PDF, or electronic version or document with the same essential information) and shall:
  • By the due date for that season's program.
  • Include all the information requested in the application instructions/form
  • Have an active Rotary Club of Arden-Arcade member who will serve as an advocate/sponsor of the grant. 
  • Understand that failure to fully complete grant application instructions may result in rejection for due diligence and award consideration
  • Have an assigned contact person available to respond to the committee’s due diligence activities
  • Agree, if notified of a grant award, to send representative to a Rotary Club of Arden Arcade meeting (Piatti Restaurant –Tuesdays at 12 Noonto participate in a check presentation before our club’s Rotarians

Rotary District Grants - The Rotary Club of Arden Arcade participates in Rotary International District 5180 Grants for local projects. 
 
Rotary International Program Grants - The Rotary Club of Arden Arcade participates in International Grants and Programs with Rotary Clubs outside of the United States.
