Chartered on November 13, 1998, the Edmond Summit Rotary Club #51552 is all about serving the local and international community, and having a lot of fun while we do it. In fact, a typical comment from a guest of our club after joining us for breakfast on a Tuesday morning is: "I didn't know that I could laugh so much this early in the morning!"

We are an energetic and enthusiastic group, and we take pride in the fact that our meetings are fun, the wit is quick, the guest speakers are interesting, and the work that gets done in terms of community service is top notch. Anyone looking to participate in another boring business meeting should not apply!

Committed to Local Service

Edmond Summit Club members provide hands on Service Without Borders in our local communities and on international projects and have accumulated more than $250,000 in volunteer hours of service. These projects are as varied as the members. Some projects include:

  • Since 2001 though our 501(c)3 Foundation members have awarded over $15,000 to Edmond's new teachers
  • From a simple idea and $2,000 Edmond Summit initiated The HOPE Center's "New Shoes for Back to School" project which has supplied thousands of pairs of new shoes for local students
  • Through Rotary's literacy objectives club members have provided over 2,500 new books to help start a library at Pepper's Ranch Youth Program near Guthrie, and several Edmond Elementary School Libraries.
  • $7,000 of remedial reading programs, headphones and computers were given to Sunset Elementary School, along with $2,000 for VCRs and media equipment
  • Raise funds annually for "Shop With a Cop" Christmas program and UCO's "Endeavor Games" for disabled athletes
  • Hold movie fundraisers like Cars 2, Seabiscuit, Daredevil, and National Treasure to raise money for local charities
  • Assist with regular deliveries of Mobile Meals and provide annual donations to aid with their daily expenses.

Since our small club's inception we have provided more than 14,500 volunteer hours for Edmond's Senior Center, The HOPE Center and HOPEfully Yours Store, Sunset Elementary's Fall Festival, Edmond Mobile Meals, Citizens Caring for Children, Camp Dakani, UCO's Endeavor Games, Boys Ranch Town, Edmond Chamber's "Trick or Eat" Halloween Food Drive and more.

International Service

We also engage in international projects each year, including:

  • Matching Grant with District and Rotary Club of India to establish water-wells for clean drinking water
  • Provided over $30,000 for polio eradication since 2004
  • Donated $10,000 for clean drinking water for our international friends in India, Mexico, Haiti, Thailand and throughout Africa
  • Supplied $1,000 Shelter Box and 250 clean drinking water straws for Haitian Relief Efforts
  • Participated in District 5750 Humanitarian Grant Project to provide mosquito nets for India and Africa
  • Donated over 800 water-filtration straws through Water Is Life, each providing a year of clean drinking water

Participating in All Aspects of Rotary

Our Breakfast Club is first and foremost a Rotary club: we participate in activities of our local district and Rotary International:

  • 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club
  • Polio Plus Annual Donations
  • At least 2 RYLA Delegates each year (since 2017 we sponsored 3 Delegates and 1 Trailblazer)
  • 100% Sustaining Member Club since 2004
  • Actively participate on district committees
  • Host and Support Rotary Youth Exchange Students
  • Rotary History Foundation Fundraisers
  • Library Books for local elementary schools
  • Provide funding for Mobile Meals and other local charities

If you believe that you have a responsibility to give back to the community in terms of a little of your time, your energy, and your expertise, and if you believe that your business should be represented in a group of people who believe the same thing, then we hope you will consider visiting our club. You will be surprised at the camaraderie, the wit, the fun, and the relevance, of what we do.
