Membership is extremely important to us, and we are always eager to hear from individuals interested in our mission and joining the Rotary Club of East Sacramento.  Our members' volunteerism, fundraising, and fellowship affect the quality of life in the community.  We invite you to learn more about the Rotary Club of East Sacramento, and how you can make a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities as a member of the Rotary Club of East Sacramento

  • Attendance: expected to maintain at least 50% attendance at weekly meetings

  • Proposing new members: It is a privilege and obligation of every Rotarian to propose new members.

  • Service to communities: To promote the ideal of service, every Rotarian should be active on the committee of his/her choice or appointed by the President of the Club.

  • Payment of dues: Dues are payable annually

  • Support the East Sacramento Rotary Foundation and Rotary International Foundation: Each member is expected to contribute annually to the East Sacramento Rotary Foundation and Rotary International Foundation.

Estimated Annual Cost

One concern about joining Rotary is the cost involved.  The cost will depend on your level of participation and involvement.  Rotary seeks to make a positive impact on our community and the world.  To achieve this, members must make personal commitments to be involved.  The table below highlights certain costs to consider (some of which are tax deductible).  These costs are only estimates, and each club will have its own meeting dues, practices and procedures.

Annual Dues: Payable no later than June 30 (prorated annual dues must be paid for the balance of the new member's first year


Meeting Dues (includes lunch) & Weekly Raffle: $20.00 per meeting x 48 meetings


Fines/Personal Recognition:  can be paid anytime during the year


Annual Fundraiser: estimated cost

$100 - $300

Social Activities: examples include BBQs, tailgates @ Sac State football games, local pub visits

$100 - $250

Paul Harris Sustaining Membership: can be paid anytime during the year


Every Rotarian Every Year: can be paid anytime during the year
