Happy dollars:  Funmaster Laura was back doing her thing.  Sean Safholm finally got hit for his trip to Hawaii and for winning another trip to Hawaii.  She also hit up Randy Smith, who became our newest bell ringer, Alana Arcurio, PDG Sandi Sava and Jim Fritzsche.  

 

Somehow Carrol Dudley missed Laura’s attention, but he did tell us that he took Amethyst’s babies to Hawaii.  Unlike Sean, Carrol remembered to bring back gifts for our president. 

 

Bell Ringers for 22-23 year:  John Brown, Hanns Haesslein, Allison Hamaker, Maria Mengotti, Jack Kimmel, Kim Walker, Don Brodeur, Bill Watson, Carol Dudley, Peggy Porter Honeyman, Bob Deering, Keith McBride, Marsha Vacca, Randy Smith and George Gomes.

 

Polio Update: PDG Bob Deering gave us an update on Polio.  The good news is that there have been no new cases of wild polio in the last 19 weeks.  In 2022 there were 30 cases, 2 in Afghanistan, 20 in Pakistan, and 8 in Mozambique.  Last year there were 340 positive samples in the sewer systems but none so far in 2023.  We need to keep up the effort to eradicate Polio.

 

International Service: Hanns Haesslein mentioned that considering the earthquake in Syria and Turkey, that we are considering sending funds to Shelterbox.   We will hear more about this in the next few weeks.

 

Children’s Receiving Home:  PE Jim Fritzsche reminded us of the next event for the kids.  Friday, February 10^th at 5:30 we will host the kids at Country Club lanes for bowling and laser tag. 

 

Axe Throwing:  Chris Deering announced that we will be Axe Throwing on Friday, February 24 at 6:00 PM. Chris will get us the address.  

 

Beer Bike:  On March 25, from 2-4pm, we will be riding the beer bike in mid-town.  Cost will be $45 per person. 

 

Interact:  The Interact club at St. Francis High School is official.  Chris is our club advisor.

 

Speaker for the day:  Carrie Malenab, President of Eta Gamma Omega chapter of AKA, spoke to us about the history and work of the sorority.  They have been serving the community since the early 1900’s. 

 

Valentine’s Day:  Even though we are not meeting until the day after Valentine’s Day, President Amy is asking us to all wear red.  She has something special planned for the day.

 

Raffle:  Lamond Harrison won the raffle again.
