President Elect Jim Fritzsche presided in the absence of President Amy.  Lewie Donhost provided our thought for the day in honor and memory of Queen Elizabeth II.  She would have love the comedic video! 

 

Jim had to work hard for Happy $.  Seemed our ESR members were not so happy today.  After prodding, Jim Shaw bragged that the completion of the K-9 fencing project will be this Thursday.  Planning for an October or November tour for the club.  Jim Fritzsche was grateful for the weather change.  Charlie shared that his son Emil’s Eagle Scout Project, the Tahoe Elementary School Greenhouse, was approved and he received his Eagle Scout Badge.  Court of Honor yet to be scheduled.

 

Sept. 17 will be a busy day. 

-  Run 4 the Cops, Old Sacramento, 8:30.  ESR setup at 7am

-  ALS Walk, Elk Grove Park, 10am, earlier if you’d like to volunteer.  Our team,

   Lionakis Lions has raised $3,500!  

-  Rotary District 5180 Foundation Dinner, 6pm at Double Tree.  

 

Poinsettia Fundraising Project will kick off soon.  Volunteers are needed to coordinate this great fundraiser.  Orders must be in by Nov. 11, so we need to get going on this.

 

Chris shared the Charter Night for Yuba City Night Club held last Sat.  Congratulations to them!

 

People of Action Human Trafficking Summit is on Oct. 1.  We are looking for someone to offer their home for a group Zoom of this event.  Volunteers please contact President Amy.  If necessary, Pres. Amy will open her office conference room in order to participate.  

 

Amber Scott, CEO, explained the need to expose children to healthy eating options at an early age. Statistics show that 40% of our children are obese, at risk of stroke, heart issues, and other disorders are caused by poor nutrition.  Their goal is  inspire children to “Eat Your Veggies”.  By engaging them in the process of growing and preparing healthy foods, they learn to try and like healthier option.  They are changing attitudes with knowledge and positive experiences.  A very worth project.
