It was President Amy Ruggles first gavel to gavel meeting and her first Club Assembly. He presented the budget and the results of the club survey.
PDG Bob Deering gave us an update on the East Sacramento Foundation. The foundation has approximately $220K in an endowment and another $42K in the bank to fund service projects.
FUNd’s: Fun Master Laura Pajak wasn’t there so President Amy decided to have fun. By the time she was done, Bill Watson, Jack Kimmel and Carol Dudley joined Kim Walker as this year’s Bell Ringers.
Fire Pit: Community service director, Chris Deering, asked for a volunteer to host September’s Fire Pit. If you are interested, let Chris know
International Service: International service director Keith McBride gave an update. The Folsom club has an international grant to help 95 women in rural Kenya start their own businesses. We gave $2,000 towards the project.
ALS Walk: President-elect Jim Fritzsche announced our participation in the ALS walk on September 17 at Elk Grove Park. We are going to have a team in honor of John Lionakis.
Next Meeting: Next meeting will be a special meeting for our club. Rotary International Director Vicki Puliz will be present to talk about the work of Rotary in the world.
