President Amy called the meeting to order with our most welcomed singing, pledge with Randy leading us in a moment of silence for Pearl Harbor Day, thought for the day focusing on Advent’s meaning, and the 4-Way Test.  
 
There were no visitors today, but we were joined on Zoom by Kim Walker and Bill Loscotoff.
 
Birthdays,  wedding anniversaries, and Rotary anniversaries were celebrated.  
 
In the absence of our Fun Master Laura Pajak, Happy Dollars were invited.  Many took advantage of this opportunity to brag and not have the rath of Laura upon them.  Dick Hall, Jerry Wright for his teams win, Marsa Vacca for recent trip to Germany and Paris, Jim Fritzsche for UCLA’s women’s volleyball win, and Amy for completing her most recent course toward her Master’s.  
 
Rotary News -
•  Dave Jones - Diapers for ARC day care center are still welcome.  He’d like to get these donations delivered before the end of the year.  
•  Chris did a quick update on the new St. Francis Interact Club.
•  Tim Hayes (aka Chris Deering) invited our members to join the Hayes’ & Deering’s in the Monthly St. John’s Chef Dinners.  There is a special offer now if you sign up for the 2023 year now.  Would be nice to have an ESR table at these dinners.  Amy quickly spoke for 2 seats. That leaves 4 seats open.  If you are interested, contact Tim Hayes for details.
•  Christmas Party is this Saturday at the Watson Home, 5-9 pm.  Please come enjoy the annual Event,  Food and company are amazing!!!
• YWCA dinner - Thank you to all that participated.  This is the only outside celebration of the Holidays that these ladies receive and they really appreciate what ESR does for them.
• Jim Fritzsche reported on the Children’s Receiving Christmas Dinner held at LaRosa Blanca.  This is becoming a happening thing!  The youth are getting to know us and trust us.  They are truly fun to share time with and really appreciate the attention.  We presented them with backpacks. 
• Salvation Army Bell Ringing is December 17.  Please contact Bill Watson if you’d like to sign up for the only remaining time slot, 5-6pm.  If you are giving a donation directly to Salvation Army, please let Bill know what you are up to so he can track the ESR donations.  If possible, Bill would prefer you give him your checks and he will get them to Salvation Army.  This just simplifies Bill’s record keeping for the ESR donations.  
 

 

 

Speaker - Dr. Bud Walker, Finding Optimal Health
 
As is so often the case, our best programs come from our own members.  This was the case today!   Dr. Bud shared what has brought him to his current theory treatment.  This concept has come from years of functional medicine, sports medicine, and nutrition training.  He presented a Wellness Roadmap for identifying where you are and your needs, repair and change, optimize your wellbeing.  His program has changed many patients lives, including this writer.  See the attached flyer that summarizes the 5 Basic Ingredients to being a healthy human. 
 
One of the most important things to long term success begins with identifying your WHY?  With knowing your WHY? you will find the motivation to succeed!
