District Foundation chair and frequent guest of our club, Joe Scheimer, announced that he is participating in the Ride to End Polio.   This is a century ride (100+ miles) around Tucson in November.   Below is a flyer announcing the details in case you would like to donate. 

 

Tomorrow, September 1 for 3-5pm, the River City Food Bank is looking for help setting up chairs and tables for the fund raiser at the Sacramento Zoo.   Contact Dave Jones if you can help.

 

We will be serving food at the Food Bank on Thursday, September 15 from 10am-2pm.  

 

Peggy Porter Honeyman was recognized for paying over $300 to cover the bar tab at the new member’s social.   She was online, so next time she is in she will be able to ring the bell. 

 

Bud Walker announced that he wrote a chapter in a book covering wellness.   The book is Game Changer and is being released on Amazon.

We had a successful Firepit social Friday.  Since we have so many events in the next few months, Chris Deering announced that the next Firepit will be in January.   Chris is looking for someone to open their home for one of the winter 4^th Friday events.   President Amy donated $50 to the Rotary Foundation in Tim Hayes’ name for hosting the last Firepit. 

 

Carroll Dudley is moving offices and the new office does not have room for the dictionaries that we purchased.   There are 34 boxes that need to be stored somewhere.   Please let Carroll know if you can store them until we distribute them.

 

Keith McBride emceed a vocational talk featuring Kipp Johnson, Laura Pajak and Kim Walker.   Kipp’s classification is financial advisor.  Laura’s classification is investment advisor but considers herself to be a financial planner.  Kim’s classification is business administration.  We learned a lot about each of their careers.
