Tax and Accounting Minute - Jim Fritzsche talked about Sam Bankman and crypto exchange, how the two audits said "all looks well" as of 4/22, but after those clean opinions, the company had a meltdown and went bankrupt in November. A lot depends on the quality of the auditor.

News: Jim Fritzsche said the deadline for ordering poinsettias is next Wednesday 11/8 at 3:00 pm. We can pay online, but that doesn't put in the order. Please contact Peggy or Sandi. Delivery is Tuesday 11/28 at Bill Watson's office.  Randy Smith reminded us of the Foundation Dinner at the Citrus Heights Community Center 6:00 pm 11/18. There are still two seats available at our table for $80/chair. You can make a check payable to the club, and give it to Bob. Randy Smith reported that Joe Scheimer is only $47 shy of his goal of $70,000 for his bike ride in Lincoln to raise money for Polio eradication. Please go online and donate. Amy Ruggles talked about the Santa Market Christmas Store in North Highlands 12/9 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. They have asked us to provide 75 items. The children go in with about $1 and come out with wrapped gifts for their family members. We are encouraged to set aside that morning to help make breakfast. Many club members brought items on Saturday and to the meeting today. David Jones would like us to set aside Saturday February 17th for a lovely hike in the Sutter Buttes. His niece will be our guide, and he is also a guide for this hike. The $50 fee will benefit the Youth of Yuba County.

Speaker: Arnold Kunst an author of the book Lincoln 365: A Primer in Patriotism As Lived by Abraham Lincoln shared some of the pithy quotes from our 16th President. He had books for sale.
